Crafting and Gathering in Heavensward

Use your retainers ventures to farm stuff for crafting, it helps a lot. Also levequest are crazy good. You dont expect to bring 4 crafts from 50 to 60 in one day do you? takes a bit, but honestly i just spammed leves/ventures and it went pretty quck. Didnt spend much, Doing leves with HQ items (which some u can buy the ingredients from MB and craft HQ on ur own) spent like 100k per level. Farming 100k gils in game is joke.

Maybe your server has a better economy but ours is wrecked by this update. Only a few rich people control it and control the prices 3.0 just helped then dominate the MB, instead they should make it so its not so easy to dominate the MB. Anyways how do you cure the fact crafting now feels like a chore...it takes more times then a combat class.

Kinda feels SE are splitting us into those who want to Main combat and those who Main crafting.

I love how you skipped over the whole part about wanting to do it myself. Gil wasn't the issue. Its about being able to play the game and do it yourself. As an omnicrafter was fun. Now the oh you have to specialize is bs. Its for all the people who wanna play on the marketboard and were crying that they couldn't sell anything.

Well my friend had no problem selling and he became a chef making crafting food like the other 6 billion crafters he still made Millions of gil a week, now he struggles to find anything to sell cause no one buys as much anymore.

i have all crafts and gathering classes to 60 and yet i have to find something i need those for, not sure why do you even need crafting in this game. Maybe for furnitures and housing? Culinary and Alchemist are the only useful ones. rest is totally worthless considering all your gear comes from raid/instances. This is the most shortcoming from SE. Not the actual system, but the fact that its useless to craft anything. Oh.. glamour yeah. lol.

A friend of mine once said sarcastically - "I got rich off the little kids who buy my synths so they can put their catgirl in a bikini." He had 20 million gil going into Heavensward and was able to burn his crafts to 60 by doing HQ GC turn-ins in about a month.

But really you mean "crafting is useless for anything but making money." And money in this game is useless outside of housing and buying other crafted things. We don't have a good gil-sink at all. XI had Dynamis, which used to cost a million to enter.

TBH the only time I buy anything off the marketboard is cause i'm being lazy and don't want to go get the mats to craft it. That or the price is less then the teleport to go get it lol. Yeah marketboard is nice if you need something right away but meh not that big of a deal really. i don't worry bout earning gil because first off when i have excess mats i don't need i toss those up on it and leave em up till they sell. Also between daily hunts for lvling alts and the challenge log really you've got a decent steady income. and that doesnt include the bonus gill from roulettes and such. I mean serious who needs to make millions a week unless your buying everything off the marketboard and not playing the game?

I was a 4star crafter in 2.x, its ridiculous what they did to us. I never gathered at all but now that crap is required, could clear 3mil a day easy. I still don't have a level 60 thankfully I have enough stock piled gil I still haven't needed to make any ^^
