What I have noticed in heavensward is what happen to crafters working for tips? Was looking for some HQ crafting gear and saw some entries in PF about people doing crafts so I asked them and wanted 250k to craft items even if I'm providing mats.

I can't think of anything more anti-intellectual than saying that SE shouldn't consider economic advice when planning a market and instead listen to people who spell it "econimists" and don't consider anything outside their own scope.
For what it's worth the market is already being well supplied regardless of the time limits so I'm not seeing restriction in the system evident in the game itself.
Because they are selling at something like 400-500% margin on the mb and there's a huge opportunity cost in undercutting themselves. I'd do that for friends but not some random guy, level a craft yourself if you don't like it (it's what I did).
What make crafter friends you say!?!?!
No way it's not enough that the storyline litteraly hands me High Quallity gear as I level up I need to be able to make it myself with no effort!
I have plenty of crafter friends. If i asked and wanted something crafted they would do it no prob. I wanted to craft it myself that is whats the problem. Would you buy a game and ask someone else to play it for you because its to much work to lvl and gear up all the classes? i was annoyed when i needed a piece of gear crafted for my fisher and i didnt have the stats to craft it yet cause i didn't have the silly masters book for it yet. Its bad enough they locked desynth down to only a few classes allowed but now they added specialty recipes. yeah am done with the whole crafting scene basically after that garbage. If i want a glam and i cant craft it not getting it. if i need a mat and cant gather it then i don't need it. BTW SCRIPTS WAS JUST AS BAD OF AN IDEA.
I love how there were no specialist recipes in the game in 3.0, because they thought the "awesome" specialist skills were enough on their own to create diversity among crafters. Then when they realized that people were still omnicrafting, they added specialist only recipes. Now I've had to waste time changing my specialties using red scripts I could be using on something else. I originally chose specialist classes just to get the crafting crystals out of my inventory, only to be stuck with things I couldn't have predicted would be as lame as they are.
Currently, the only blacksmith specialist recipe is an ingot that is used by armorer specialists in their 6 recipes. No glamour weapons as of yet, nor pets, nor bardings. It would have been nice if there was a free specialist reset when they finally decided what they would be doing with the stupid concept.
Pretty much can't be bothered doing either due to the gate for both, I got other things I'd rather be doing than chasing something mundanely and mindlesslyIt was a relaxing past time in ARR but now it's another grind which we really don't need it to be.

I don't have motivation to collect red scrip. Totally wasting time to craft and gather those, it doesn't like on 2.0 when I craft for lucis.![]()
It blows my mind people still believe forum posters dictate game development. Those that participate in the forum are but a small percentage of the player base. SE, like the other MMO game developers have their own internal data, and no post on the forums, twitter or facebook will give better information then what they already collect.
What we suffer is "the curse of knowledge". For new people, most of the dungeons after level 24 is considered "intense". For us, we just don't understand why newbies do not "get the mechanic" when everything is spelled out for you right in front of your screen... For them Brayflox is HARD ("you want me to Esuna all of you? move out of the way? and cure three people???), Sunken Temple is "ZOMG WTF was that", Cutter's Cry was "intense" and Titan "baby trial" was "fck this, I swear I ran and out of the train track from hell".
Wow what a necro.
Well I can say five months after HW started, I still don't mind scrips.
