The easiest/best/non-stupid solution is to throw a few quests in there to fix the broken Aethereytes that are all over the place. eg, you can fix them by crafting or buying the "portable Aethereyte" from the market/GC seals, or something of that nature. It needs to be within the grasp of players who finish the level 59 quests without "making it", so that they can not skip ahead before east half is unlocked.
Like that IS the most sensible thing to do.
how hard would it be to enable mounts in Idyllshire like the housing zones. don't even have to enable flight. if i can teleport into Idyllshire and stay on my mount, ride my mount and fly after the zone line that would be enough for me.
I don't need idlers parked on top of NPCs with their giant mounts, thanks.

We just need to fix up one of the miniature aetheryte crystals in the Hinterlands. There's a few broken ones laying around.
I think it'd make a great quest to have a Goblin tinker around with one and a pretty sweet reward to be able to just warp right outside like you can in the main city-states.

I prefer less aetherytes honestly. Makes the world feel larger and alive. It's exactly what I wanted.
I agree with this. One of the first things i noticed about Hinterlands is, "Well, if i die, i have a long walk back".
Before you get your wings in the area, this is a pretty neat feeling.
Plus it kind of ruins the whole vibe of the area to be able to teleport into the heart of the stillness.

I think they just wanted to prevent another Mor Dhona (mount vs mount) from happening again; hence Idyllshire prevents you from summoning mounts

i like it having no aetheryte. Makes it feel much roomier. True we'll never see a map like 1.0, but this makes me nostalgic about it. No aetheryte, no safety net, loooong way back. It's all about the journey, not just the destination.
