What will happen to our relic weapons now? I put so much work into it (and gil) and even tweeked it a few times since finishing it. I love the looks of the Yoishi Bow and want it to evolve even more.

I am hearing rumors that this weapon will no longer be used and something will be replacing it. I thought the relics were always to be the best weapons - when up to date.

Did I throw away all that time, effort and gil into a glamour piece?

Welcome to the vertical progression design.

The relic weapons are done. They are adding a whole new set of relics style weapons for this patch. SO more or less it will be the same thing all over.

But as for the current relic you worked on, it is vanity gear now.

Yep. The zodiacs are outdated as of Heavensward. The weapon goes up to item level 135 when fully upgraded, but the weapons in Heavensward go up to 190, which I'm sure you'll agree is a slight more powerful than the pigstickers of old ARR.

But fret not. For ye now holdeth the best looking pigsticker in Eorzea. Be proud. Besides, it's still good until about level 55.

Not sure if this is a confirmed statement or not but apparently we will also get a push ahead for the new relic somehow if older relic was complete as opposed to those who didn't get it completed but for now, it only opens glamour sadly. xD

Atm its only a glamour weapon but it has been stated that the completed zodiac might go some ways towards the new weapon when it comes out. How much I dont know but it would be nice if we could upgrade our zodiac strait to the newest weapon or at least with a fraction of the grind if it comes out. Gotta wait and see till then tho.

propably a later patch will offer us zeta owners a shortcut to new weapon. for now i think it's wise to delay this otherwise us relaic owners can simply upgrade now and ignore all new ex primal weapon farms. once everyone have 180/190 weapons then the new relic quest will be release propably 200 or so item level for the first upgrade

It was a sad day for me yesterday....I was fighting hard to keep using my Zeta...determined to make it to 60 before I put it down. But...I dinged 59 and had a shot at a dungeon drop that was hands down a better weapon. Couldn't fight it any longer and had to bite the bullet.

It is so weird to not see that familiar glow anymore....but... progress. We must move on.....

excalibur zeta lasted till 58. think that's more than fair for a previous level cap weapon

For the last story dungeon I had to replace my bow... I felt so sad.
Immediately glamoured it over the new bow. This will continue... the law bow is nice but. My zeta. Blood, sweat, and tears went into that.
