Company Seals for your own chocobo THATS IT?!

You could of thought of SOMETHING creative(like every other damn game in the franchise has done) for a quest, while we rent them in the meantime

Questing for a Chocobo is a thing of the past, I for one thank god I don't have to waste my time doing some stupid long quest to get my Chocobo considering they should have been out on day one of FFXIV release. Also some people actually spent their points on R50 items or other things like crafting scrolls and they will have to do quests to get them. Also considering Chocobos is going to be more than just a mount in the game in the future and they will implement quests and other things later as a part of the Chocobo system.

don't remember chocobo quest being that hard in ffxi, but the item to hand in was selling very expensive so i went to farm my own. lol 10k each i think...dang i was broke. but the kazam pass that was really good, took some time, also needed a little help with it from people. they should think bout adding stuff like this in game,

we really need to wait before QQ'ing on the personal chocobos. Like some have metioned u have to get passed recruit and im guessing the story will unfold there about chocobos. I think they could have made the requirements a little higher for the rental but all in all im just happy to have them at the point. it's like a long lost friend comming home

There's a slew of Chocobo content coming.

Here's how I see it unfolding:

We join the Grand Companies and earn ranks and seals. One of our rewards, a "personal" wartime mount trained to respond to a whistle.

Then when they add future content we'll see the mount become a pet. After time spent together as just adventurer and mount, we'll have legitimate quests to form a bond.

Plus there's no indication there won't be a quest. We could hand them 3k seals and the NPC will say "Here's your issuance, but you choco is terribly sick..."

Even if there isn't an initial quest, big deal. I'd rather this method than XI's method of waiting weeks for something that moved at half the pace of it's rental counterpart.

Some people here, like Xatsh, won't be satisfied unless they are the only players on the server, nay the game, who have an item that must be reached through 4 years of work.

Stop the e-peen contest and realize this is a video game, not real life.
The Grand Companies are somewhat military related, do you have to build a relationship with your car before you can use it? These chocobos are essentially issued to you for your field operations, if that makes sense.

They are personal chocobos but not necessarily YOUR chocobo. It's a branded chocobo, with the flag of your Company, essentially making it a company property chocobo.

Ever look at it that way? If you are a soldier, for example, you'd expect to be issued your equipment and mounts, not have to go make your gun from scratch, or build your car yourself. This is going to help against the Garlean Invasion ... something something.


Whatever just accept the damn chocobo and airship, or are you going to QQ you don't have to quest for an airship pass?

This is just a sign that we'll definitely have Chocobo breeding. Just wait for the hard part and enjoy the horsebirds...

Well...Some animals reproduce offsprings Asexually (but that's a whole other subject)
But it says "Company Chocobos" are males...well how about rental chocobos, maybe they are males and females...so I would not rule out Chocobo Breeding just yet

then SE announced birds were in the works,

then SE announced birds where coming in the next patch
now people are crying because its to "easy"

you have no idea what quests the companies will issue to get the insurance so do be quiet, wait until the patch is up for download and you have had a chance to check what you actually have to do.

then if you feel the need to cry about it, GO DO INTO UR PILLOW.

this game is awesome, the devs are doing some great work and trying to please everyone. this IS NOT FFXI. things HAVE to be different in order to make it stand apart from XI.

As long as I have a cutscene leading to me getting a chocobo, I'm happy. I don't need a quest a la FFXI to give to a npc one item every hour for 5hours or spend weeks to get a subpar mount.

Having to spend 3k seals for it is good enough if there is a cut scene associated with the whole process. I mean, it's going to take some time for new comers to gather those seals and for us... Well, wasn't it the whole purpose of playing the game since release given its bad shape: be ahead of new comers? That's what you get (and that's no surprise): every new things that will be released almost instantly.

Do you remember how people were saying that the R45 dungeon was too easy (who beat the full dungeon at the first try, even with an already established tactic?) after spending all their time spamming them? What do you think the same people would have said if they would have only done it once per day or even less?

What I see from reading the forums is that a lot of people can't control themselves and need the game to put barriers for them instead of just pacing themselves.

Right on. Plus think of it as a present to us from SE, making it easy to get because we didn't one for a year. All the new comers it will take longer. I see this as an incentive for sticking with the game and some people still have to work for it now as I said because they may have spent their points instead of farming them. Also we have no idea what pre req. quests we have to do to get the bird as one did mention we have to obtain a certain rank before we can get them. We will know in a week.
