Main hand:
- 10 ARR Jobs maxed = 10 weapons
- 8 crafter classes maxed = 8 tools
- 3 gatherer classes maxed = 3 tools
- 3 Heavensward new jobs learnt = 3 weapons
Total slots required: 24.
Total slots available: 25.
I am working on the ZW for my PLD and WHM, so I keep these two weapons on me.
I can perhaps lock up the MNK and SMN weapons with my retainer, but I plan to play BLM+DRG as well, and at least try out the MCH to 60. That covers every single type of gear.
And later on in 3.1 I expect to at least do my PLD and WHM relic again. So throwing out the MNK and SMN weapons don't help that much.
Could we please get some response from the devs on whether they think there's a problem, or whether players are expected to lock up a few of their jobs with the retainers to free up space in their Armoury Chest?
My suggestion for a short-term solution that doesn't cause extra server storage need:
The AC has 420 slots + soul crystals. That 420 could be shared between all equipment pieces in the AC. So one type of equipment (e.g. main-hand) can "encroach" on say the off-hand's 25 slots. Many jobs simply don't use off-hands, so those slots could be put to use.
The game client software presents the AC as it is now, except that when a tab has more than 25 items, clicking on the tab will toggle a new page of 25 slots that shows the extra items. This "view" is only superficial, it is only a "sorted" view presented to the player. On the server side, the AC is just a 420 slot inventory for gear items only. (Soul crystals should get their reserved space anyway.)
With this implementation, I'll be able to store the extra weapons I want to bring with me, utilising the 60 empty slots that exist in my other tabs of the AC, without requiring extra server storage space.
