Why most people dont like to tank?

I guess I was lucky because I really messed up really bad when I was lvl 30 with my DRK to the point that I felt bad for the people that were with me and specially the healer since my main is a white mage, but they were really patient and they never rage quit, I think only a summoner told me that DRK's sucked but I actually made a mistake so I guess that was ok, I'm 52 atm and I feel that I can handle groups better. But I agree if all those parties had told me to quit because I sucked as a tank most likely I will be playing right now as a white mage again.

Speaking for myself, I suck at almost every class I've tried bar Paladin. I don't like feeling like dead weight being pulled along so I tank because I'm half way decent at it but I just suck as a healer or dps.

I like a challenge , I tanked the first few months of 2.0 and then for static I healed.....also I hated to die.....after being a awesome healer I switched to tank at the end of 2.0 and man the attention to detail you have to have just adds a whole new mech to the game

Besides PLD is so much fun especially in 3.0 crit'ing for like 2K on a Royal Authority is awesome especially on checks like the EXs

Did low level dungeon roulette as a 57 PLD and I was instantly asked by the healer if I could permanently switch to another tank class because paladins have no AoE threat abilities and do no damage and that, being a paladin, I was wasting the group's time. It's occasions like these that make me hate tanking. (Duty was Brayflox's Longstop)

People can't handle the leadership position. It requires a lot of attention, a lot of people want to just be able to attack and not worry about that stuff.

Lol I out crit my Ninja. Warriors are bursty damage, Nins actual dps is higher.
