In the time it takes to Emergency Tactics + Swiftcast + Adlo your tank is dead. I don't see it working very well as a panic button. If you refer to it as anticipating a tank buster, your best bet is placing an adlo before or in the middle of the channeling of the tank buster and landing another adlo just right after your tank takes the spike damage.
In raid content, with a WHM or AST with you, I find it rather useless.
I have stated this when the skill was first announced and I am going to state this again - shields are almost always better then heals, for the simple reason that they can safely "overheal" without waste.
You mention "big aoe damage", but when that happens, the WHM or Diurnal AST is already casting his AoE healbomb(s) with Regen attached. There is zero reason for the SCH to healbomb as well and risk overhealing, or let the partner's Regen become overhealing by topping off people too soon. It is much more MP efficient to use standard Succor and put some shields up. Same goes with Adlo - there is no reason to use the equivalent of Cure II when you can use Adlo. Only one instance comes to mind - DRK Living Dead. But it is extremely situational.
If I need to top up the tank for whatever reason, I drop one Lustrate charge and then normal Adlo. Much better than trying to find a use for ET, imho.
ET had to increase healing potency by 50 or so. That would make the choice worthwhile: do I need mitigation, or do I need a heal that is slightly more powerful than mitigation?
If heal and mitigation have the same value, no sane person would choose heals.

I understand that. But as I said, unless very specific circumstances, you are not healing alone. I have yet to find myself, as SCH, to have to aoe heal on top of my own Succor. Usually the other healer does that while I deal with tanks.
Again, way less overhealing that way.
Emergency tactics at present is awesome as is.
I strongly feel this ability doesn't need a buff, however dissipation needs to be buffed or outright reworked.
Remember, ET is NOT a Jack-of-all-trades-skill. It helps you to get a target (or a group) back to full life and makes double scholar-setups more viable. it basicaly just fixes an isse the scholar had in the past. In Standardsituations it ofc grant no benefit. (like most of te new scholar skills)
It is not Assize! (please dont nerf!)
But i share your opinion on Dissipate - the cute little fairy is worth way more than 20% spellpower+3 Aetherflow-stacks.
Yeah I'm really quite underwhelmed by the new tactics and dissipation skills. I can see casual players having fun with them in a dungeon but for raids with double healer they are not very useful.
jesus christ this thread.
ET has been given to us to enable us to use our adlo or succor in succession.
why the hell want some people use ET plus swiftcast to rescue a tank, just use your normal adlo......
if you dont need a 2nd heal after 1st succor then fine, what are you comlaining about, the content is easy enough to not need 1 2nd heal from you, good job you did it.
Reading this thread people aren't using ET properly it seems. Shields > Heals always, so you never use ET on a normal Succor or Adlo.
In 2.0 Succor spam wasn't viable before because shields didn't stack.
Succor spam is now viable with Succor + (Emergency Tactics & Succor) + Succor in heavy AoE.
