I am ready to craft whatever they release next and everything now HQ's at 8 stacks from 0 (base materials like adamantite nuggets) good luck on your "AF" speculation when the newer gear is released I can craft it as soon as i have the mats.

I can do that too with my not-fully-melded gears and NQ mats, as long as RNG doesn't screw me up and let me miss HT 5 times in a row. Not to mention your ability to "craft whatever is coming next" is also a speculation.

really, k whatever is coming next is harder then the new Green coats, which is over 1000 difficulty and i forget how much quality. There is no speculation whatsoever you need HIGH CRAFTSMANSHIP to make these HQ yea, over 700 or it's a RNG STRUGGLE. So sit there and do whatever you want but to anyone looking to make money; The Master Book crafted CRAFTER gear is not there to be replaced you can get 721+ crafts 688 control without touching the main/offhand and i suggest doing it do meet any requirement that comes your way...if anything the replacement will *require* such stats....................

At the moment, there's no need to meld your gear aside from a few CP melds. All of the crafts released so far are dead easy to HQ, including the level 60 1* recipes. You don't need anywhere close to max stats.

However, if grade IV materia is cheap on your server, I'd stock up on them as they'll likely be useful in the future.

Unless you actually believe you won't need higher stats to craft *gasp* the new gear coming out (I am set to makewhatever comes out) there is a reason they did not upgrade the Lucis and made BiS Crafted gear. AF MAY COME but to GET it............. you will need stats.

There's no way of knowing what the required stats will be. That's why I'd stock up on materia just in case.

However, it's also possible that the next set of crafted pieces will be from 1* recipes only. Basically, I think it's a bit premature to start melding already, but it's definitely a good idea to have the materia on hand.
