didnt they show every class with unique looking gear in the heavensward-preview videos? This makes me believe we gonna get a new set of gear once they release the red scrips (or even before with start of the raid?). I wouldnt spend too much gil on the current items right now.
regardless of whether the new gear is better or not, if it is, you can be 100% assured that it will require very difficult turn ins, turn ins which will likely be alot easier to achieve with better gear. SE never just hands out the BiS gear like its nothing.
Aside from that, the other reason to get really good gear now is because very few crafters do. If your at the point where your all crafts 60 or nearly 60, it means your in the bunch of hardcore crafters thats mostly like making and spending alot of gil, and
having good gear now gives a crucial advantage in these early weeks to increasing and improving your output. If your not in that group, then yes by all means wait.
tldr; if you can't afford it, of course you should wait as alexiell suggests. this would also indicate that your not entirely a hardcore crafter. (its actually cheap as hell to make yourself, materia excluded)
if you can afford it; you most likely are in the group of crafters that can benefit from it, and most likely already are benefiting from it. when new gear comes out, you will likely have an easier time getting it because your geared already.
Hardcore crafting has always been high risk high reward; this is just another one of those gambles. If our fully melded patrician-equivalent sets let us craft 2 stars as soon as they come out, we enter the markets first - and any serious crafter/market player can tell you how important that is. If our gamble fails, oh well, just a temporary setback we can make up later. You have to invest gil to make gil.
spend munny to get hunny as they say.Hardcore crafting has always been high risk high reward; this is just another one of those gambles. Wish I could get serious into crafting. I honestly love it so much. But I'm always too scared to invest what savings I have for fear of not making it back (honestly have a minor anxiety attack thinking about it). Oh well, guess I'll always be watching from the sidelines.tldr; if you can't afford it, of course you should wait as alexiell suggests. this would also indicate that your not entirely a hardcore crafter. You'd be surprised how easy it is to make money crafting even the low level items that only take vendor items to make. Find things that sell every day and the market isn't flooded and focus on those. Sure I wasn't making 100m+ and reaching gil cap like some crafters, but making 2m a month with basically ZERO risk of investment by only crafting things made from vendors seems perfectly reasonable to me. Then once you DO have a few million you can choose to invest in more costly things.Wish I could get serious into crafting. I honestly love it so much. Hempen Breeches of Crafting = 179g to make, sold HQ on the MB for 5,000g. People buy crazy things on the MB for ridiculous prices.
yea im pretty sure these recipes now are not the end. from the initial release of hsw first thing i notice was the lack of new recipes and the amount of whites, so i think they focused more on msq and flying mounts. and later for maybe alexander we will get our gear sets and better items
I wish to know the meld caps on gear between 51 and 60.
I have this L55 fisher alt who is dressed in all BiS 2.55 fisher's gear. That's 411 GPs. And fishers just got reasons to use GPs.
I did make and meld earrings for her.
Mythrite Earrings of Gathering will take +8GPs, +5 each gathering and perception.
