I think AF gear will easily replace the chimera set.
Like wats the point of releasing AF crafter gear if adept gear is under the all powerful melded chimera/ serpent set. We r waiting for af gear = most likely will be an upgrade.

You wait too long as with all real crafters, you lose your money opportunity the melds cost notnearly as much as power leveling them all to 60. The current gear melded should be OP for SOMETIME

I'd be very surprised if they dont add new crafted gear (for DoW/DoM but also for crafters/gatherers) together with red scrips in 2 weeks. Maybe the new crafted gear is the class specific AF gear, so having a single strong set with melds for all classes will definitely help. But personally, i will wait 2 weeks and get the current BIS gear without melds for now. It seems like this is enough to craft all of the current stuff and i can still prepare and gather materia in case we gonna need melds for the new stuff, i just wont use them yet.

And what do u need such stats for?
Ur crafting like what 3 star level 60 crafts?
This is technically the "patricians" set of 3.0" (ppl used it to craft 2 star back in 2.0 i think lol. )
If the AF is CRAFTED and has MATERIA SLOTS and has BETTER STATS then it'd be better to gear up and meld those asap.
Like u mentioned ppl wait too long so if ur gonna hang onto that set when better gear comes out then idk.

All u need is to be able to reach the minimum crafting stat to craft the 1 stars etc.

There is no confirmation of any of that yet. Besides even if it turns out to be the case: AF tends to be class specific.

I am ready to craft whatever they release next and everything now HQ's at 8 stacks from 0 (base materials like adamantite nuggets) good luck on your "AF" speculation when the newer gear is released I can craft it as soon as i have the mats.

I can do that too with my not-fully-melded gears and NQ mats, as long as RNG doesn't screw me up and let me miss HT 5 times in a row. Not to mention your ability to "craft whatever is coming next" is also a speculation.

really, k whatever is coming next is harder then the new Green coats, which is over 1000 difficulty and i forget how much quality. There is no speculation whatsoever you need HIGH CRAFTSMANSHIP to make these HQ yea, over 700 or it's a RNG STRUGGLE. So sit there and do whatever you want but to anyone looking to make money; The Master Book crafted CRAFTER gear is not there to be replaced you can get 721+ crafts 688 control without touching the main/offhand and i suggest doing it do meet any requirement that comes your way...if anything the replacement will *require* such stats....................

At the moment, there's no need to meld your gear aside from a few CP melds. All of the crafts released so far are dead easy to HQ, including the level 60 1* recipes. You don't need anywhere close to max stats.

However, if grade IV materia is cheap on your server, I'd stock up on them as they'll likely be useful in the future.

The only thing i see that'd be worth keeping around for a while is the belt as the belt tends to get replaced much later than the rest of the gear. So melding the waist gear is probs the safest bet if ur not sure if u wanna meld gear that might get replaced soon.
