Return is anima free since 1.18. But it have now a 10 minute cool downWe still need it for a return feature. I fell through the map yesterday, if I dont have anima theres no way to get back unless they make a web based unsticker which could probably used for fast transit to a home point. I say keep anima. Maybe you can reduce the amount now, and also grant a bonus based off of a guardian trait (as stated in my by the 12 thread), but other wise, I say keep anima.
Very bad idea. It would make suicide warp a common transport system again.
Just increase the anima regeneration time. 1 Anime each 10 hours.
Eh, what?
You get the leves in the adventure guilds. Now you must to run to the camp because the leve isn't active yet. On the camp you active the leve but now you don't want to teleport anywhere. After the leve you will teleport but can't because the leve is finished.
Where is the logic?

Sorry, but NO! Are you crazy? You must have lost your mind...

I am actually very okay with this. Though abolishing Anima completely right off the bat would be difficult, leave us with about 25 anima for those really long trips (Cortheas, Mor Dhona, etc). While Chocobos and Airships are the main modes of transportation. While I do enjoy FFXIV so far, it feels like it lacks that sense of adventure from FFXI.

You really just started this thread ... really?
It's in the lore.
It has a resource mechanic.
It's to meet the needs of the casual playerbase.
It's useful for hardcore and casual players alike.
It's not going away.
I can go more in depth but the people in this thread probably don't want that.
The saddest thing here is there hasn't been one good reason to why they should remove anima or change the system.
Anima is a joke.
Why?
Because if the developers were actually proud of
the land they created, anima would seem like a slap in the face.
The end.

Reason, it makes the game world look smaller, and like "loading..." screen most of the time.
-Ulda'h > Tranquil
Option 1: Port
Option 2: Chocobo
Option 3: Run
Thats atleast a 15 min run on legs, assuming chocobo is 2x faster(at least) so around 7 mins on chocobo, and port is instant. At this point i would port, or take chocobo if i wanna stop at Drybone and hand in quest thn off to Tranquil. A sensible thing to do.
This is what players will most likely do, Port to Drybone, Port to Tranquil.
Whats that? don't use if you don't want to? why would i not do that, its available and it fast, of course i would use it. If instant porting to Tranquil isn't available i would plan out my path on how i would get to tranquil, you know like an adventure. Instead i would see 2 loading screen every 5 sec and im there still feeling empty like i didn't do much but for some reason this NPC says i finished a quest and gives me reward.
Something like that should normally take like 7-10 mins but instead it will be done in 5 sec. Still dont know why there is Chocobo and Airship in this game... just give players unlimited Anima and problem solved, instead of wasting time and money on implementing Chocobo and Airship..
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...

I concur. Why should we have to spend time completing a quest? Why should we have to earn our rewards? Why cant I just log into the game and instantly obtain max level and every reward possible just by clicking on the npc without having to actually earn my reward. Why even call it a game at this point?Reason, it makes the game world look smaller, and like "loading..." screen most of the time.

Please provide a compelling argument as to why taking 20 mins to do monotonous travel is better gameplay, more enjoyable, and not easy mode. As it is right now, the game is still mostly centered around the Camps. Until they add stuff along the way, at the Hamlets, or the recluse areas far from the nodes and Camps, anima conservation is the only use for Chocobos and Airships. Until the monotony of traveling is fixed, we need all 3 forms of transportation. Even when it's fixed, we need all 3 forms of transportation.
You're also forgetting that chocobos and airships are getting more content attached to them later on. That alone is a reason people will think twice about using anima. Choosing to use anima means you're going to completely bypass that.
The whole immersion argument is a bunch of BS as well. Play within the confines of XIV and it's rules, not those of another game.
