    Malefic clarification question

    I want to make sure I am not missing anything with Malefic II ability. As SMN, Ruin I and Ruin II both had their uses. However, Malefic II just seems to be a complete upgrade to Malefic I with a little bit more mp cost added in. Am I missing something, or should I replace Malefic I with Malefic II on my casting bar?

    The question is why wouldn't you? Malefic II is suppose to be our bread and butter nuke upgrade over the summoner/scholar line which was for different uses. Applying a blind debuff and having some mobile dps at the cost of higher mana.

    Welcome to AST's world : where most of the spells make no sense. (hello gravity that does not have a secondary effect, etc)

    Yeah i don't use Malefic I ever.

    Astrologian job is not suppose to have much utility applied to our damage dealing abilities. Our utility is suppose to be in our healing versatility and support spells. Our spells do make sense.

    I just look at malefic 2 as stone 2 and stella as stone 1. Unless i'm lvl synced in a dungeon then malefic 1 is stone 1...

    As cool as Stella is, I kind of wish its utility had been given to Malefic and in its place we got an AoE damage spell that we could use for level 50 content or an ability to boost healing potency.

    Or make stella another DoT or something. Stella as it is now is pretty useless unless you really need that heavy.

    No they don't. You can't name a spell Gravity and make it do only damage. It's just dumb. The spell is named GRAVITY ffs -_- That does not make any sense.

    And afaik, we're the only class that has a spell that becomes completely useless at max level (Malefic I).

    Nocturnal sect is useless. And speaking of which : more non sense => time dilatation is like 50% less effective in noct stance, collective unconscious (lol.)

    But ok, our spell makes sense. I guess the fact that our lvl 60 spell removes food buff also make sense to you eh ?

    Dealing a quarter of the enemy's HP is ludicrous. So, do you want a damage spell, or a spell that becomes useless against everything?

    Malefec is Stone 2, Malefec 2 is Stone 3, a flat upgrade. OR: Malefec is Ruin, Malefec 2 is Broil.
