Yeah the companion restrictions are incredibly stupid.
Can't queue for dungeons, can't ride mounts, can't summon a minion, etc...
It's the main reason I pretty much never use my Chocobro for battle.

You probably haven't registered the expansion yet just the pre-order bonuses.

I have the digital collector's edition, but received only the preorder items. Not sure if I need to contact support. I want my griffon!

You should be getting an email with a new code that you log into mog station with and select "register code for expansion" and then you can expect the CE items. If that's done and you don't have it in game yet, it might be sent with daily reset. I won't know til I'm home from work though
