flare/holy nerf

i usually somewhat agree with the nerfs that are done in a way to balance the classes so no one is greater, however i think that the nerf to flare has the opposite effect.

Either the recast of flare needs to be lowered, or the recast of whm holy needs to be increased.

Sure holy got nerfed, but it has a low recast so the whm can still easily outdps blm or probably any other dps for that matter.

A White Mage can only keep up a holy spam for so long, even with full mp support from mcn/brd. Your probably right saying a whm will outdps a blm or any other dps... But only until the White Mage runs out of MP. Black Mage has unlimited resources and can keep a flare rotation going indefinitely.

No changes should be made, I for one am satisfied with the nerfs despite being out of MP nearly every time a tank try's to speed run because Enemies just don't die in the same time they used to anymore.

True, but in combination with empowered MP-Card from AST it sure helps in a raid for an even longer time.

In a situation where a whm is playing with an AST it is unlikely any holy spamming will occur.

MP isn't the only restriction to holy spam. Needing to heal is a more important factor. WHM + AST, WHM has to heal. WHM + SCH, SCH is the one dpsing.

Also remember we have to ensure we make time to switch out of cleric to start healing. This is a precious second sometimes especially now with a lot of new tanks or those not familiar with new skills. Running into 20k hp Warriors that get the crap beat out of them compared to a 12k Warrior that doesn't even flinch. The nerf has me rarely using holy period because of the mana loss. It is what it is though. We're still healers and I think our new spells are amazing. We shouldn't exactly be too hurt if they take holy down since we aren't intended to be DPS.

whm already been nerfed im just saying its an unfair adjustment to blm as there not at all the same.

Most of the rotation with flare includes using swift cast.

In the time it takes to cast flare without swift cast a whm can spam about 5 to 6 times holy, this to me feels unbalanced.

I do agree that healers should be healing more then dps'ing and i actually think healers should have a better mp pool or a way of regening their mp i have played a healer so im not totally ignorant of the issues healers face.

I hope that makes changes but not to whm... why is everyone against healers dpsing? I know how to give my group about 20 secs of invincibilty with all our regens cast my aeros and holy to stun them all. Its good burst damage but holy is very mana hungry. And does always do as signicant damage as one thinks. My holys hit for 1k to each enemy while my flares 3k and i am able to cast it 3 ttimes so each enemy is get 9k. I just dont want whm to change i love dpsing and healing and whm allows me to do both.

because healers are meant to keep people alive not dps most of the fights their job is to heal i get chucking an aero or holy every now and then but theres alot of whm i have seen that just spam holy instead of healing and hope everyone survives
