I stopped playing after titan extreme was added, so I was ilevel 90. Quests provide me ilevel 125 (the boring quests I'm doing are providing me that gear), and reducing my gear level will make only SLOWER something that it's boring, the challenge will increase and the reward decrease, which is not great (in this case, usually I'm fine, but leveling overall is extremely weak)Think you aren't keeping in mind is if you are donning IL 130 gear of course it's going to feel easy, you are pretty much a lv 50 in 56-58 gear. Personally I didn't need to replace my il 135 katana til lv 58 so in a sense it's telling me that while I was leveling from 50-58 I was pretty much wielding an insanely powerful weapon.
If you want challenge, then limit the gear you wear, of course the game is going to be easier if you wear stronger gear, just like an rpg gets easier when you find better loot to use against bosses.
1) Why not, I mean, questing in any case is not getting interesting, so this is forcing people to stay lower levels, drop the game or something similar for the sake of... teaching them something? I don't believe so, I'm a healer and I spend 99% of time doing dps. And when I need to heal, I cast one healing spell and I'm done.
2) I don't really ask for fast leveling, but to make it more interesting, currently is just plain boring, the quest are REALLY weak (I remember I found a few interesting in ARR, in Heavensward I'm back to WoW world where you gather poo and kill random mobs. Also it was asked me to kill chocobo, I really disliked that.)
3) If they are not good enough to make leveling at least interesting (and there are mmos with good leveling), at least make it short, I already spent 20 hours and the game is still boring, an AAA single player game usually finishes at that point with a lot of fun, not with a lot of FARM :P
I work during week, so when I play my 32 hours on weekend (lol), I want to have fun, instead I really KEEP TRYING doing xp but I keep getting bored and switching game, sigh.

I hope you realize this is all very subjective right? Personally, I've been having a blast leveling. The story itself is amazing and even the sidequest are interesting and more involved lore/storywise than arr's were.
Fate's wise noones doing HW fates because they give crap for xp. Everyone goes to northern thanalan and just farms those instead. Its just one of the things they need to tune within the coming patches along with leve/temple leve xp in the new areas.
I honestly have no idea what mmo you could possibly be talking about that has "good leveling". From what I've experienced at least, every mmo has pretty close to the same leveling experience with some notable exceptions that have an interesting story to go with it... or the opposite and have bare bones nothing.
It's not an excuse to make terrible leveling here too, the main story last "few seconds" compared to all the sidequests required to level up, guildhests disappeared (which was something I liked to level up), hunting log didn't update (I preferred that over quests) and final fantasy in general has a very lacking gameplay in "single player", compared to other mmos, while it's good in multiplayer, but basically they force you to do XP alone unless you make fates.I hope you realize this is all very subjective right? I'll try tomorrow with northern thanalan
