Can't agree. Not into the leveling for the challenge. It's more like a tour of the zone, its monsters and its features, and bits and pieces of its lore. When I get bored of them, I switch to dungeon/hunt/roulettes and can find plenty of challenge there simply because not everyone is at full competency level.

Don't like sidequesting? Don't do them. I evaded Moogle Hell on this simple policy. Levels come quick regardless, and there's good gear to glean from the dungeons (some of it incredibly pretty).

They are a very valuable source of exp, and considering the only other options are horrific FATE grinding and Dungeons(which offer a neutered amount of exp considering our TNL), not doing them is going to halt your leveling to a crawl compared to those doing them.

Its why I stomached through them and completed them. It says a lot when the "Lore" of the zone or "Tour" is so boring because of its execution that most players couldn't even tell you the names of the areas. Hell most NPCs werent even named after a point it was just "Worried Moogle" or "Angsty Moogle", they didnt even have names :|. The only moogle i remember is Mogleo because he had a THF hat.

I'm not denying that your strategy of getting through these is good (Move on once you're bored), but they are, by purposeful design, the most potent means to level up in this game by a wide, wide margin. FATEs aren't too bad if you find a good party, and Dungeons, while offering respectable exp, are a devoted time sink. Your best way to level up will be grinding through these quests for quick exp.

So its not like your suggestion of "Ignore is" is helpful considering the OPs complaint is horrible leveling... your suggestion would only hurt his leveling.

(admist all my complaining here I would like to point out I think Heavensward touches a Lot of issues I had and aside from very minor issues I enjoy it.)

Leveling is, never was, and never will be "hard". What you're wanting is it to be monotonous, tedious, and no less than a chore unless you sit in a piss boring FATE group all day.
By harder leveling they mean "MUST HAVE A PARTY TO KILL A LEVEL ONE MONSTER". That's what they mean.

I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.

One thing to say to you. Maybe if you took an interest in what the npcs have to say as well as the dialogue from the main NPCs, it wouldn't be so boring?
The HW storyline is a twisting , turning maelstrom of intriguing details.

Gives me something to work towards improving as a player.
Doesn't take long to get a standard rotation into a habit, but the complexity of being in the right place and the right time for my combos to do their work is something that only comes with long hours of play/practice.
Part of the reason i abandoned WoW, Rift and SWtOR was their extremely unengaging combat. Both visually and mechanically. Most any 'modern' MMO falls into WoWs "Simplicity for simplicitys sake" trap.

The challenge is being able to make your complex rotations work even under the worst possible conditions.

It is more challenging than ARR in the sense of the slight increase in monster strength but I would not class it as hard. I would however say it is better than ARR in terms of quest EXP balanced /w main story quest progression level requirements. I have already leveled one character to 60 and am now working on another character currently 52-53, leveling using main quests/side quests, hunt marks, dungeons and trials is enough to reach 60 very fast even without touching leves or fates.

No, I just wanted a bit more challenging monsters (and more rewarding), when I'm in solo, I keep pulling 3 monsters when possible and they still are no thread. The hardest thing when you pull 3 enemies is try not to un-pull one of them while avoiding red circles

The issue I, and most of us are trying to understand is why you're complaining about this now?

Leveling in ARR was far more "non-challenging" than HW. The enemies in HW actually have some HP and do more damage compared to ARR mobs.

What I find disappointing about your thread is you don't really want a challenge at all. You are simply using "challenge" as some ephemeral comparison point... "Make it challenging or make it fast!" What you're really demanding is to make it faster. You don't care about challenge, and I'm willing to bet you would whine if they actually did make mobs challenging.

They aren't going to make it faster for awhile yet. It's a new expansion and they want 50-60 to take about the same time as 1-50 in ARR. If that bores you, WoW is that way.

No, this is your entire deduction.

I want to have them more challenging so that hopefully I can enjoy leveling. I'm ok if they manage to make leveling fun, but it's not now and having mobs challenging makes it a bit more fun considering that you spend 90% of time against useless boring trashes.

Yeah, make it faster if you can't manage to make it more enjoyable. Why on earth should I even spend 50-60 same time as 1-50 if it's extremely boring? What's the purpose of keeping me bored in a game, shouldn't you make it more interesting to keep me subscribed and get my money? I mean, it's counter-productive even economically. And by reading the topic I AM NOT the only one thinking that leveling is boring.

I'm ok with slower leveling if it's enjoyable, but it's not.
Stop infer what you want from people, I just want to have fun, and looks like it's impossible for ~40 hours (maybe more, I don't know how much it takes to get to max level)

What you're saying is counter-intuitive. You say you want more challenge to "make it fun" because leveling is slow. And you're ok with leveling being slow if it's fun. But making the monsters harder to kill isn't going to make it fun, it's going to make it more tedious. The only thing they could do to make it more "fun" would be to have different mechanics other than "fetch this, kill these". Because the "fetch this, kill these" mechanics are what you are saying are boring. Making them take longer to kill isn't going to magically make that more fun.

If you want to have more fun, then skip the side quests. Just do the MSQ and fill in the rest of your XP with Hunts, Dungeons, Challenge log, etc.
