    Settling in and crafting

Hey there! So I finally started FF14! I had wanted to play for a long time but I kept getting dissuaded by my friends. But I decided no longer! I'm playing the game I want to play and am having a blast.

I'm getting to grips with most things, and have decided to leave the lancer route and go towards conjurer, balancing my stats out more in the meantime.

However, my main problem is crafting and money. I'm on the Lindblum server and whenever I try to browse for items from other players (Whether in the field or in Gridania's shopping district) everything is ridiculously priced! I have around 14k and I can't find anything to buy! (Or am I kidding myself and 14k is not much at all?)

I have also been hoarding lots of items for crafting, and I have all the items for all the DOH and DOL classes, but I'm finding that it's near impossible to even guess most recipes. So while playing I have to have my phone showing recipes, all which need about a billion different items that I can't acquire in my area!

So long story short, apart from guildleves, is there a good money spinner, and is there an easier way to get into item synth or should I just wait till my conjurer is high level so I can venture out and get lots of items from mobs?

Thanks for reading my wall of text guys

It seems part of the reason you can't afford items is that you've sunk a good bit of gil in a bunch of weathered weapons, which is a good thing imo. The gil rewards for leves go up significantly with every tier, so ranking up does help improve your cashflow, but there are a couple of things you can do for money besides that. The main quest always has good gil rewards, so be sure to do that. Sidequests can also offer gil and useful items at your rank. You can also sell things like cotton bolls, logs, or ores found while gathering, basically anything that's used as a raw material for crafting is in demand.

Also, if you Google it you can use AutoHotkey to remove the border from your game client's window. This way you can play as if it's fullscreen, but can still look at ffxiv.yg.com without crashing the game. Note that it still has the same graphical strain as windowed mode.

    Hope that helps!
