Dev, please confirm MCH buffs before Alexander release?

They are still making changes at at least WM, they did not mention GB. They are making it easier to use and slightly increase BRD DPS. They said they will make -further- adjustments after feedback on Alexander. WM is something they have to fix because it is proven to be less damage than using auto-attacks.

Gauss is actually even more of a dps loss, its just we had RF bug to give it some use midcombat but now with that gone, we have the same thing with longer and weaker cooldowns...

Even if you implement a bandaid adjustment for the meantime... something so we can be competitive enough to not be booted or flamed all the time. It's toxic & not an okay situation to sit on.

Well looks like I'm jumping ship to a balanced class until this gets fixed. It's a shame, I love MCH and had a renewed desire to play a combat class I hadn't felt in a long time, but it got killed by MCH being the absolute lowest tier of damage out of literally every class except... PLD, SCH, and AST I think? And apparently they're prioritizing fixing BRD for Alexander before MCH, who has it even worse off and has plenty of skills in it's kit that are just blatantly worse versions of BRD skills.

This is just unplayable now. I mean, it's a trap really; because at 60, for all the time and effort you put into it you're not going to do any real endgame content because people will just reject you. I'll take a look back when they fix it, but it's sad I have to switch to something that's been correctly balanced at all.

The only thing I know about his rotation is when he calls for cards that I draw from my Astrologist that buff in to doing better DPS. The class might be crap on its own, but coupled with the proper support roles to enhance the buffs make the class much better.

On his own with out the ASt buffs, he's suffered DPS immensely to which I assumed was the point in having the AST and the MCH in the same patch. The need of working together.

Thats the problem - not everyone is going to DF into getting an AST and not everyone has an AST in their pocket to bring with them. The fact that a class can't do anything without this partnership still means it's not complete. It's not ready for use. It's not ready to be played by the masses in any party setup. I haven't touched my BRD alt, yet, but from the last time I hopped on him (lvl 50, mixed Poetics/WoD/Soldiery top/head geared in 2.55 content), his DPS felt fine. But MCH, from what I hear, has worse DPS than BRD? Than of tanks?

I spent last night running a load of hests (for the first time on class bonus xp) and repeat dungeons with 28-30 lvl gear (at 30-32) on MCH and even I noticed I felt like I was using a loud pea shooter. Shooting over-boiled, super squishy peas. I haven't played long, but ran into two of those same dungeons with two MCH (myself and another) for DPS. I've tried a bunch of options for rotation - from burning my CDs that raised output - and using the crit buff for DoT... no idea if it effects the DoT damage like it does BRD - to staggering to elongate slightly higher numbers before burning out on CDs and so on.

If you could ask your friend what their rotation is (with and without AST buffs) and offered it up, people would be less inclined to refute the existence of good MCH DPS. It would be helping an entire community, and alleviate the issue of class discrimination if the rotation turned out to be usable.

I was really looking forward to using MCH, being I have a pref to ranged melee, but now seeing people are going to lengths to pre-emptively exclude players - people who've done nothing wrong - based on class alone makes me avoid this. I'll play and level with FC, ofcourse, but I and others can't always do that.
I don't look forward to DFing into an instance only to find myself vote-kicked right away by the rest of the party, based on a class bias alone (and it's DPS. It's highly replacable).

I won't stop using Machinist. I've come this far, and I WILL raid Alexander as a MCH. I consider myself fortunate to have a dedicated team from within my own FC who's all embracing their roles , however new and changed they may be. But I am still aware that my role and what I bring to the fight are limited. By design.

All I have to make up for it is good awareness, perseverance, a good raiding sense, and adaptability. Maybe I'll be forced to miss a few Ex primal/Ex roulette/random party busses, but I'm not so fickle to simply give up Machinistry.

This. Spent all of Sunday and most of Monday putting up with MCH not even being welcomed, or people outright leaving the party if I wasn't kicked. While I appreciate at least a few were polite about it, more often than not it was pure hatred up to and including people throwing parser logs at me about how inferior we are to other DPS (and even Tanks apparently). Most Party Finders now won't even allow MCH anymore either on Gilga.

Starting to regret not just taking Bard to 60 in the first place, because at least they're still being allowed in parties. I don't need to be top DPS, but I do need to be accepted in parties because we'd like to progress through content too.

Anyone who engages in this needs to be reported to GMs for harassment. These elitists have gone over the line at this point and are a toxic element in this game. No one (and I'll repeat this for those of you too slow to understand: NO. ONE.) should have to endure this kind of bullying because some clown on Reddit or any other elitist forum decides a job in a video game is not up to their standard.
