It took about 6 months I believe for War to be fixed (someone please correct me here if I'm wrong, at the very least it was 3 months). It took almost a year to fix DRG magic defense issue and their damage issue. It took until this expansion to buff summoner compared to black mage, so about a year and a half?
This is why whenever I read, give it more time, I shake my head. To give SE time is to basically accept nothing is going to be done. If it took warriors being turned away from parties for 3months - 6 months to get them a fix, just think what it's going to take for MCH to get adjusted.

I am glad to read this, I was wanting to level my MCH but if that is all the prospects that I have for buffs then I am done. Leveling to 60 is tedious enough as is, and I am a scholar main and can just gear a summoner for DPS.
I don't mean to dishearten your aspirations for MCH. I played BRD since 1.0. We were top dps and got nerfed to being the lowest DPS in the party. I continued playing it b/c I loved the class. If it wasn't for personal reasons, I'd still be playing BRD despite issues with it, just as I am with MCH.
If you love this class. Stick with it. Play with friends who will tease you in good fun and you enjoy being in the company with. The game's frustrations will blur into challenges you can take on with your friends. In other words, if you have fun with this class, please don't let the problems with it hold you back from playing it.
I'm still holding out hope that a magic MCH will come into these threads, post a rotation that blows DPS out of the water, and all will be well. lol
That's mostly because:
A) The dev team was sure WAR was not broken. They even said "people don't know how to use it". People stopped using them in raid content. Then the buff happened.
B) The dev team overlooked DRG's magic defense because the in-game content was not heavy on such mechanics. With FCOB introduced, with a lot of raid wide magic damage, that problem became truly evident.
C) Summoner started to be rejected from FCOB too. With the expansion some months away, I guess they didn't want to waste time to introduce the changes until then. As they were still working on it. I'm sure that re-balancing a job, even with people's suggestions, is not something that you do in a couple of weeks even.
I'm sure SE now learned that they GOTTA listen to their playerbase, as they are the most efficient way to test the jobs out in every circunstance. My guess is that they'll wait until they can see how they perform in raid content. I hope you guys get your jobs fixed soon!
just make Gauss instant cast give back our auto attacks no cast times buff potency across the board befor at least alex.
we can work on the shitty 5% buffs and debuffs later or just bump them to 10%
mch should be a mobile dps if played right be pretty good in dps and if need be can take a small hit to tp/mp regen.
While the burst every 90 seconds is very good for a fight like bismarck ex. and found my self needing to move way to much in every fight so far to support the idea Cast time is a the right idea for MCH/BRD.
problem not having a PTR/beta
As a MCH I support this. As a former BRD I also support a similar buff for BRDs.
Please stop discounting MCH and BRD when the phrase "on par with..." each other comes up. BRD is having serious issues now as well. Developers said that GB / WM were supposed to put these ranged classes on par with black mage, and to be honest there's no reason why it shouldn't be. B/c we can move? Yeah, we move b/c of mechanics. Moving is not a plus when most of all the mechanics target ranged while every fight is compensated for melee. B/c we have support? Yeah, so does almost every other job in the game - SMN can move and has virus, a battle res, and does insane amounts of DPS, so why not us? B/c we give TP / MP? Yeah, so does NIN for TP and most healers / casters are expected to maintain their MP pools. An inexperienced healer has been the only case where ballad was necessary for me in endgame. Otherwise, MP was lost due to mistakes on the part of other players.
BRDs and MCHs should be accepted to perform just as much as melee (due to the fights not compensating ranged). No other mmo, that I have played, punishes ranged for being ranged. Why should we accept it here?
Damage is only one (a really big one) of the problems this class has atm. If you support this thread, please check out the discussion thread I made:

Alright, first of all, I ll agree that MCH and BRD seem to be lower in DPS than SMN and BLM (not counting melee here) when looking at it with current mix-match gear and/or fresh 60s gear.
Now, its hard to measure the DPS-effect of their support over the entire group. I wouldnt be surprised to know that a BRD or MCH will, all things added up, provide more DPS than if they were a 2nd BLM. I am actually relatively certain this will turn out to be the case, because of scaling. The single most important aspect in longterm PvE MMO balance is scaling = how does your class behave with increasing numbers.
SMN and, historically, almost any pet class start out strong at level caps in almost every MMO i have played, because their pets have artificial stats, independantly or just barely scaling with their equipment in effectiveness. At the beginning of an item cycle, that usually means they are a much larger part of their DPS than later on.
BRD and MCH have auto-attacks, which is a scaling DPS factor based on stats and the weapon slot, which casters do not have. I am not sure with ilvl 190+ weapons, the DPS difference is actually going to be as big, just because right now the casters profit from higher baseline, less scaled abilities.
Additionally, there is the piercing-debuff from the DRG. There is no "fire damage debuff", or "magic damage debuff" that boosts only BLM or SMN, and these -10% are a big deal. Of course, currently that debuff necessitates a DRG in the party, and we see a certain imbalance in these things (Ninja being better than Monks for that reason in some setups), but lets not ignore that DPS is not a matter of standing on your own before a target dummy.
I believe giving the MCH and BRD better numbers, but worse scaling to bring them in line with the casters would likely help out perception right now. I am not so sure its a necessity once more gear comes around.
