It is nice how in a way the DRK Job storyline expands on these questions.

After all not many side-stories or the Main Storyline hardly touch on the part that despite all the power and skill the WoL has he or she is still a being that has his or her own limits. So far everyone in Eorzea treats the WoL like a Hero that can do anything no matter how impossible it appears but they often show how exaggerated their belief about the WoL is due to the countless tales being told about the WoL but of course tales are often changed and altered.

Though with how 3.0 Main story went I won't be surprised if they decide to have the WoL die in 3.X era, and return from death after a certain Eorzea time jump in 3.X era, to set the stage for 4.0 but that is just a hypothesis.
Indeed, in the end as the dark side said he/she is the one underneath the mask and I like that, the question giaus asked came up at the end of the dark knight story line it was like after everything you have been through what do you now fight for? After talking to your dark side self after viewing what npc's think of you overall and dealing with the corrupt and those unwilling to change has your opinion changed? Or remained the same? For my character it changed.

I do wonder if the void has anything to do with our abilities we get stronger and feed on negative emotions and how we learn the last was the abyss whispers to you a new skill or some such. With abyssal drain it was your dark side feeds on the pain of others, can't wait for the next part of our job quest in the future. Still in the end I think you can agree with your dark side having strength and gaining it is a sacrifice since you will suffering for yourself and others. Being a dark knight is pretty grim and lets not forget almost everyone hates you considering the powers you wield and how you go about "justice".
