What are the ancient ruins on Azys Lla? [SPOILERS]

If you explore Azys Lla you'll soon spot remnants of some anicent civilization that are very clearly not Allagan in origin.

At first I wondered if these were more of the ancient structures built by man and dragon prior to the Dragonsong War but that civilization rose after the fall of Allag. The mechanical structures of Azys Lla are integrated into the ancient ruins so the facility was clearly built on top of these ruins; they predate Allag.

Do we have any knowledge to indicate what civilization these ruins belong to? Are they possibly linked to the Warring Triad?

Almost everything not Allag was the former nation of dragons. The Allagans invaded and slaughtered them all and captured the rest while doing nasty experiments on them and their land.

I may have a clue, if you do some side quests from the nodes. They said something about miqotes, and we all know they are from meracydia but i cant confirm that beacuse I'm a miqote so it could be that he change his text depending on what race is our character.

I'm not so sure about this. Are the dragons actually capable of building structures such as these? All of the draconic architecture we've seen so far was built with the assistance of the mortal races and there are several quests in the Dravanian Forelands that imply the dragons are incapable of dextrous tasks on their own.

Is there anything in the game to specifically confirm these ruins on Azys Lla as draconic?

Seems they just say what race your character is. For me it said lalafell, I can't remember seeing any mention of Mi´qote.

Such as the Cathedral? If you pay attention to the texture's you'll see that the symbol of Azeyma is all over it. This is common in Belah'dian structures, but I feel like it's much more likely that the Cathedral was taken from Meracydia and was once a place of worship for the Seekers of the Sun

I always wonder what happened to miqotes during the invasion of the allags and how they managed to survive. All I could think of is that they surrender inmediatly after seeing what happened to the dragons.

Check the map, there is a place called "Catheral", that is where those ruins are

Not just the cathedral. If you look closely the ruins are all over the entire region. There's the remnants of an old aqueduct in the southwest, random old stone columns here and there and old stone paving sticking up out of the dirt everywhere. Azys Lla is entirely built on some kind of ruin.

Given the way the Flagship is positioned in the centre and the land has split into four quadrants around it my current guess is that the ruin used to house the Warring Triad. Assuming that the Triad works the same way as they do in FFVI, whereby disturbing their relative positions to break the formation would bring destruction, I would guess the Allagans came from beneath the island launching the Flagship up through the middle of the Triad and capturing all three of them at once, shattering the island in the process. That would be the only feasible way of moving them without disrupting the formation.
