FFXIVs bard should be something like this.

I'm not going to say that archer turns into bard, because we don't know the facts. All I'm saying is if/when they put bard in the game, should be something like this.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNRkkVJiuVE Bard kinda sucked on Mabinogi, but it was the best implementation of it I have ever seen. That's all I did in Mabinogi was bard, had soo much fun with it. I know it would be hard to do something like that, but a boy can dream can't he?

Doesn't change the fact that making your own music would add content/fun/freedom/immersion.

As a an ex-hardcore player from mabinogi. I have to admit, bard was something that made the game feel alive.

I rmmber those times in dunbarton (a town) where I could sit and hear a song from a bard :3 (usually anime or videogames song) and we chated and even played "guess this song".


It was an aspect (or gameplay) of the game that wasnt dirrectly related to kill stuff or make stuff.... it was more about bringing life to the game. It was about giving you something else to do. It was about having fun without having to grind for it.


It REALLY would love if they could do something like this. I even remember those webpaged where u were able to find and submit ur music scores (in MML format). You were able to share ur music with the whole server this way


Also some music scrolls were rlly usefull for fighting against some monsters like the dragons :3 (your music prevented them to fly away). There are some music scrolls now that have more uses to it.


Please I know im just a single player :3 but please Yoshi-P or someone at the dev crew! PLEASE implement something like this system!

Its SO MUCH fun ! and its not related to "killing monsters" or "crafting items" its more about "life" inside the game!

Ooh the good old days in dunbarton, but ya, it did make it more life like. I just really loved a lot of stuff mabinogi had, this is at the top of the list. Making your own songs and what not. Really blew my mind away when I first started playing it.

!! I know! that was my first WOW for the game!
I loved how u were able to do a firecamp and play your music scrolls :3 while someone shared some of the meal they cooked.

It made the game feel alive , it made it feel like some real life simulator. Like if the game was something bigger. It wasnt just a game it was an "experience".

I loved that game SO BAD... my only conflict was that I really really hate nexon. They are so money hungry, customer service sucks, and the game is full of hackers and glitchers (some of them amazingly obious). They do nothing and they dont care about their players.

Thats why I <3 Square Enix and I love yoshi-p. Because even if the situation of the game is not good, they do care about us and they take some time of their busy schedules to inform us what they are doing. I feel like as a player my role in the game matters.

Unfortunatly I hate to admit that the amount of fun I experienced in mabinogi is no way near the amount of fun I experience on FFXIV.

When I was grinding in mabinogi, it felt like I was playing a game which was fun. It even felt more like an experience because of all the "fantasy life" involved.

When Im grinding in FFXIV it feels like real life work :/ .... a job im not paid for and XD that I should be paying for... LOL

I think that those little aspects like music playing, scores, cooking, share your cooking creations in a campfire made by yourself with the logs u actually get from trees.
All that stuff made the game feel alive.

Totally agree with this concept of bard, also seen in LotRO. Really hope they'll introduce the possibility to play instruments in FF14 too, in the near future. There is also a sort of music hall in Gridania for concerts

Its good, too good infact, too good to be true, thus it will not happen. SE will stick to what they know, buttons and rerecorded sounds, i garauntee nothing more than an XI clone but probably using a bow.

But yes, we should all express this and hope SE pull in some love. It may happen after the dramatic "Rush" on things that is required at the moment. But with job system being part of that "Rush" I doubt it will ever happen. It will be your typical job with typical skills and be very much typical SE!

By what we can see at that AF image, BRD might indeed be ARC's job...it will "open" the harp into a bow.

Check out the bow the dude is using near the DRK/DRG...it's actually a harp....it has multiple strings at upper side.
