Help! how can I get into class? have all requisites!

OK I have an Arcanist who wants to become a
summoner.
My Arcanist is now level 39 and my Thurmaturge is Level 16
So I went according to these instructions:

In order to become a Summoner, characters must have a level 30 Arcanist and a level 15 Thaumaturge.

Once you have met the class level requirements, go to the Arcanist's Guild in Limsa Limsona and complete the level 30 Arcanist class quest. After that quest is complete the quest to become a Summoner will unlock which will grant you the Summoner's Soul Crystal which you equip

However at the Arcanists guild in Limsa nobody gives me a level 30 Arcanist class quest. Maybe I already done it but even so, how come did I not unlock anything or was told anything?

What do I do?

Did you do the Thaum class quests, you need to do those quests up to 15 at least, and the arcanist quests up to 30, then you will get the smn quest. If you already did it, Try checking Apallaku Falls in Gridania for SMN quest giver.

Thanks for reply. I have not done the Thaum class quest actually just got my char to level 15 on that one. Have done all the quests for my main, i.e. Arcanist. Will now check for the class quest for thaum and see if that works

Have you done the main scenario quest sylph management? The job requirements were changed a few updates back so that you need the main class at 30, the sub class at 15, and that specific level 20 main story quest completed.

OK now I have gone and done all the guild quests for Thurm up to level 15 and I have done all my quests for Arcanist Guild up to level 39 and neither of the two guilds gives me any other quest or option to become a Summoner.

I am getting really frustrated. In the first place there is basically no info that you can become something else/advancemen t when you reach level 30 so I only noticed that by hearsay now, that I am already level 39 .

I guess I stuffed everything up now and no point in getting Heavensward if I have to start from level 1 with my other stuff.

Disappointed.......

PS done all Sylph quests and all main quests (since I am already level 39 and everybody died....)

I noticed you did say you don't know if maybe you already done the quest or not. Easy way to check is open you're armory chest. (CTRL+I). Look in the bottom box on the right. That is where all soul stones are keep for any Main job you have unlocked. It you see the summoner soul stone there then that means you did do the quest. All you need to do now is equip it and you're a summoner. Good luck and hope that helps.

I just don't understand it. Have done everything I am supposed to be doing. The only thing I can think of is that maybe you can only get the job when you are level 30 and since I am already 39 it just won't work.

Maybe a bug.

I am so discouraged don't want to play now, seems a waste of time.
Only thing I can think of is start again from scratch but hate the thought, and maybe I reach lvl 30 and have the same problem.

The quest itself is called "Austeritie (spell check that) of Flame, incase maybe you have picked it up. I am also curious if its a different character from your profile one.

The quest giver for summoner is in Old gridania att Apkallu falls, (x10 y6) it might be worth checking for a quest there
