Somewhat more akin to actual hunting, as well; You went after Chamrosh so you could go after Iriz Ima so you could go after Armed Gears or Gotoh Zha the Redolent or Dea. Killed all of them? Now you're after Tinnin. Similar trees in order to go after Sarameya and Tyger. All three of them down? Go after the Pandemonium Warden. If you wanted to "Hunt" Pandemonium Warden, you had to put some effort into it, it wasn't a simple matter of someone on your server shouting that his up...
By all means Yoshida, put your own FFXIV spin on it, but ZNMs is almost exactly what Hunts should be. It would make things much more interesting, much more involved, and much more challenging. Perhaps then I could understand high level gear being obtained by Hunts, because I certainly don't understand why you persist in putting such gear behind a glorified zergfest.
Only thing I hated about Zeni Notorious Monsters was the Zeni part... I cannot adequately put into words how I loathed playing amateur photographer in order to accrue enough points to go after something... I think in FFXIV the existing Mark Bills would work as a much better means to obtain currency for buying pop items.

I agree with doing the Daily and Weekly Hunts to get the Seals from the targeted monsters, but for those who want to earn a little extra or get the seals faster regarding the A and S Rank Hunts (A Ranks are 4 hour respawn and what's S Rank's?) I think their HP needs to be increased as well.
Especially if someone calls it on a Hunt LS and they teleport to the designated area but the loading time takes a while because a lot of people are teleporting there or a lot are they costing you the time you need to get to the Hunt in time before someone's group kills it and it's not fair to people looking for the hunts and doing other things in the meantime and it dies within 2 minutes since it's announcement.
There's alternative ways of doing it, but if I see another way to earn Seals faster I like to take it when I can but not being punished for being late after it was announced only a couple of minutes and dies withing seconds upon arriving there. I know they're called hunts, but Hunters tend to work together to hunt down a mighty beast no? That's why I think increasing their HP is a more benefiting route as it allows ample time for people wanting to hunt it if it's pulled early.
And besides an added ability is that they initial first attack of the A/S Hunt needs to be stacked to avoid a lot of players to reduce the damage and if there isn't than the party dies. Simple as thing.
You can do the Daily and Weekly Hunts but this methods adds patience and a reason to wait for a lot of people and allow people plenty of time catching the Hunt and people who "pull early" gets punished for it by the Hunt itself.
I love how people who make no effort in finding hunts expect 100 of players to wait on them. Here are my 4 steps to prohunting. Step 1 join an active linkshell. Step 2 look for a hunt, join a party finder.
Step 3 kill it.
And the fourth step and most important, don't be a act like a crybaby when you don't get there in time. Seriously asking se to delete the hunts is some straight bs, grow up.
Why don't we just bump every single hunt thread from 2.3 and be done with it? This is literally the same thing with some numbers switched.
"Toxicity": used so much the term is now essentially meaningless.
The only problem that really needs to be addressed right now is the crazy instance issue. I'm surprised it even was allowed to make it into the game.
It really is a wonder to me how this was their idea to get us the materials to upgrade the Law gear. Surely, they must've known people hated the nature of people who do hunts and those around them. I'd rather do any other piece of content than deal with that.
The argument I see all the time is people shouldn't expected to wait for every person on the server and should be grateful they get told anything. Why is every comment like that so freaking extreme? How is waiting a few minutes going to hurt anyone? No one playing this game is so busy they can cast aside common decency for something they do so much anyways. They're just those people who want instant gratification and have the attention span of a gnat.
They should just do an experiment and put a weekly cap on the seals, just to see how it changes people's behavior about dealing with hunts, since people are so damn impatient nowadays.

Well there's a lot of things gated right now. I'm guessing they probably just wanted to let us be able to upgrade our full sets before Regular Alexander comes out. With any luck, Regular Alexander will drop i180, and Savage will drop i190. This would mean Regular Alexander will drop the upgrades, too, so taht would give people options.
I enjoy hunts, but only when I'm actively hunting. I'm in a hunt LS and I miss most hunts if I'm not active and part of multiple hunt LS's at the time, but I've never been one to complain in shout. I actually had someone complain about "Not waiting 2 minutes..." Then I linked him the timestamps showing a 3 minute difference.![]()
