Typical wow players.

Played WoW for years and I can say all my previous guild mates (including myself I guess) are not like that, at all. The majority of the community isn't, just the vocal minority (and I can say the same about FFXIV's community no less). Although you're doing a fine job at making the FFXIV community look horrible and possibly detracting potential players.
Just want to say that your Signature always makes me smile. So adorable X3Played WoW for years and I can say all my previous guild mates (including myself I guess) are not like that, at all. Topic: Where you come from doesn't matters. It's your Language that matters. If you are nice everything is fine. Be an A** and People will avoid you regardless what MMO you played before.
Just you know i am a WoW Veteran started playing like...one month ago. I have not a single shred of Motivation going back to WoW. Even with the new Patch that came out this Week...i see that WoW Icon...and then this XIV Icon on my Desk. And i totally forget about WoW and start to smile over all the Fun i have here. With a more relaxed/mature Community.

Why would you skip the story o_o
That's what FF is. One huge story.

wow players are fine aslong as they understand this isnt wow and there were games before wow like eq which wow took alot of inspiration from and eq took inspiration from old text mmos and those text mmos took from a game called adventure so everyone comes from someone else doesnt really make them better or worse its the way they treat others that i have issue with i treat everyone with decency and i expect the same back sadly its pretty rare regardless of what game they played before i think its just easier to hate on wow players tbh

Ugh, I don't like to multi post but well. The same applies to every kind of player, though. I could say exactly the same about the FF XI players. FFXIV took some inspiration from there too, but it's not XI. We won't expect XIV to be a carbon copy of XI with better graphics. I'm a WoW player myself, but also a Ragnarok Online player... or an Aion player... and so on. As a "veteran" in the MMO genre, every game holds its own and unique (Sometimes >_>) experience.
And I do agree with it. I see no reason to witch hunt the WoW players, as if they all were toxic for the community based in that misconception of it. The reason behind (as far as I can tell), some people hate WoW per se, therefore, they hate the players that enjoy said game. So they use the "WoW player" as a negative connotative for no reason. When something does interest me with the story in the game, I tend to not get it from cutscenes. I go read wikis. Researching specifics that interest me is what I prefer rather than sitting through cut scenes. The stereotype that WoW has no story and therefore its players must be out to ruin FFXIV's story is pretty insane, though I've seen it said quite a few times lately.

I prefer getting rid of the roleplayers who abuse /shout

Wow has story, but it is very shallow and players tend to turn away from the lore since they must invest money and time to read the books and reading the wikis. The story for wow has sadly become a shadow of its former self like the game since Wotlk. The story has become a mess with time travel and lack of character development between the heroes and villains with terrible lore choices that the writers have taken, especially with the end of the new raid in patch 6.2. Players from wow may not be interested in the lore and some may be. It depends how they like their story. Dark or light? When something does interest me with the story in the game, I tend to not get it from cutscenes. I go read wikis. I come from WoW, but I also understand the two games are different beasts to contend with, just like when I went to GW2 for a time. I also can't pinpoint WoW players spot on, I usually run into them on accident through chatting in groups. >_>
I think Warcraft lore is and isn't shallow at the same time, probably more inconsistent and partially dissatisfying for me if anything. It has nuances, but then they never get touched upon ever again and the things that we're tired of seeing, they start throwing more at us (i.e. Thrall, but they have eased up on him, sort of... but now it's more orc lore). I also agree that the story past WotLK has gone down hill. Cata was a trainwreck outside of Firelands and Pandaria felt contrived in so many ways. The start of WoD was great and the additional lore on draenei is pleasing, but oh god, new Hellfire Citadel and the new story developments there, what even. I am side-eyeing and facepalming so hard at it. And yes, it's a problem when a lot of lore is put in sources outside of game and you get developers saying "we could do story, or you guys can have another raid." I mean, really?
