Heavensward Leveling... aka Northern Thanalan Leveling

I'm probably going to start doing this myself :/ I tried to lvl legit by just doing expansion stuff but now i feel like im just being left behind because everyone is already 60 days ago from doing N Than fate grinding and already lvling other classes..... It's no fun doing new world stuff when no one else is doing it because old world yields better exp.

The thing is, you have a choice. Rerun the FATE in Northern Than, or run the new ones. I understand that because of a technicality in the way XP is calculated, the new ones are considered sub optimal. Do what, you have a choice, and you make it. If you dislike your choice, change it.

They're technically right, even if they said it a little abrasively. I won't do anything I don't enjoy doing, so that means I'm not zerging fates in N Thanalan.

Look, in truth people who have already 60'd their jobs including one or more of the new ones are consuming the game at a rate far in excess of that intended, or advised. They have clearly demonstrateD by playing FFXIV in that manner, the game takes a higher priority in their life than anything else. How exactly do you sugar coat that? It may be abbrasive, but truth is truth.

If that is the truth. Then I envy them. The ability to do what you like to with Your time without being hindered is a feat people generally work towards their entire life. But that isn't what important. You believe people doing what they like have "a lack of life"? Thats the issue.

Abrasive comments aside, there really is a huge disparity between HW Fates and the Fates of old 2.0 areas. I believe it's one worth addressing.

When the rewards don't match the time spent doing something, no one is going to do it. Most Fates in the new areas are dead. You'll maybe see a small group tackling one or two, but the only time you'll see a decent crowd is when one of the 'super bosses' shows up that actually gives half-decent XP.

At level 59 you need just shy of 4 million experience to hit 60, so there's no reason why the XP should be so low on Fates of the same level.
