    [Feature Request] Implement Tell filtering

Howdy fellow FFXIV players and FFXIV devs! Please implement a toggleable option to filter out tells from people who are not on a configurable whitelist. The main options I would like to see in this feature are: Toggleability of the main option as well as sub-options that select who can pass through the filter. Make the option to auto-allow friends and FC members to issue tells to someone who has the proper flags set in their option. Have the default config be to allow tells from everyone but still allow for a whitelist to be set for tells so that your playerbase doesn't need to have to filter out tells to a certain tab and basically never look at said tab. It also would allow for notifications on Tells to actually be used again. I just don't want to deal with random tells from RMT bots that you can only Blacklist so many of.

Please Square Enix! Implement this suggestion or something similar OR come up with an acceptable solution for this issue.

Also, the 1000 character limit on the forums is really annoying.

so nothing in terms of an acknowledgement at the very least... Geez. I get that you guys ban those RMT bots, but that isn't enough. We need a way to block their spammage altogether if we choose to do so. Plus, at the same time as implementing this feature, you could implement a system that logs Tells that get blocked by the whitelist filter. If they aren't blocked, they either don't get recorded (which i feel they should be anyways) or they get a log of who sent what to who without message content. Then the system should cross-reference that data to the whitelist "blocked" log. If there's a match on the Sender's name, have the system flag them for a GM to look at. I'm not -that- great with programming but this should be fairly simple to implement UNLESS you devs have been using dirty code techniques.

EDIT on 7/6/15: I posted this in another thread asking for basically the same stuff: removal of the spammage we all face from RMT people/bots:
So I had posted my own thread with a somewhat similar idea. Instead of restricting tells to be unlocked functionality, implement a whitelist so that only Friends, FC Mates, and manually specified people can send you tells or FRs. For those not added in that way, the friend request system should allow for a player to generate an authorization code for Friend Requests for a specific person. For example, a real-life friend wants to friend you and you know their name. You enter it, system generates a code, then you feed them the code to enter on their end and confirm the entire friendship for both sides once they enter it in their client.

This was the method I was thinking of myself, because as with another idea posted in the forums, if it's quest related to unlock chat features, it won't take long and the RMTers will just do it anyways. They have the time, obviously, it's all the do, all day everyday.
If we could just toggle who could send us /tells, it'd free up a lot of annoyances and interruptions. While it doesn't get rid of it altogether, it will at least lessen the amount.
The friend requests though... Harder to get rid of, but from what I understand with 3.0 trial accounts aren't supposed to be able to send them anymore? At least, that's what someone told me, but I've still been getting them.
