Hmmm, Could it be there is a Dock/Landing some where? I mean come on, even if they're computer driven they'd have to stop some time right? No matter how advanced the fuel would eventually get low and run out, then it'd crash into the ground and stop moving entirely. (Hmmm, wait a sec.)

The airship dock near Helix looks too small for the Flagship. Maybe it was designed for it?

It says they were built for many things and could even house Ragnaroks, though not as they are now. Perhaps the rings can expand and contract? Or maybe there were more, bigger ones, and they're missing now?

But what if it is neither Allagan, nor Garlean? What if that unmistakable purple glow lends itself to that other well known shade of purple from a certain vast zone of darkness, a world of darkness, if you would. Yes, what if it were a voidship, invented not in the Third Astral Era by the Allagans, but instead by something more recent, the Mhachi of the Sixth Astral Era and the victors of the War of the Magi.

Remember, we knew nothing about the Mhachi until 3.0, and then suddenly we knew that they were voidmages and they caused tonberrism, and wrecked Amdapor with Diabolos. We've thought they were the Proto-Beladians, but what if they vanished altogether from the world, leaving instead in a ship that was powered by trapped voidsent and was capable of flying high above the flood-waters of the Sixth Umbral Era.

Well, we have three powers, three statues that seem to represent three schools of magic, not to mention it's hard to imagine 5000 years of history passing without a single buried Allagan relic misfiring.

I kind of imagine the Allagan Empire as having been built up carefully by the Ascians in order to build the pieces they needed to instigate later Calamities. It'd be a little shark-jumpy for all Calamities since the fourth to have ties to Allag's leftovers, but it's not too much of a stretch to imagine their junk causing a Calamity besides the Fourth and Seventh.

I don't know, just because SE likes to use threes doesn't mean there's a correlation beyond that. The Warring Triad couldn't even be sensed by anyone until Thordan became a Primal and weakened their seal as he drew from their power. They were sealed, and I highly doubt the Mhachi, the Amdapori, and the Nymians even knowing about them as the Warring Triad were sealed, inside of a flying platform, surrounded by floating islands, protected by a forcefield, surrounded by dense clouds, and sent adrift high above the Sea of Clouds.

Conversely, supporting the idea, the Nymians have lots of wings on their designs (I mean Last Resort in particular), which could be the Goddess; the Amdapori very well could have had contact with the Fiend; and the Mhachi, the Void Mages of the era, may have somehow made contact with the Demon.

Just putting thoughts out there on both sides.

I'm guessing that it's the Lunar Whale.

I know many people have speculated this, but a member of my FC actually found that it appears during the weather pattern "Lunar Wind." So, that could be a confirmation? Possibly? Regardless, that ship is important and will most likely appear in the story at some point in the future.

Unfortunately, it may have appeared during that time, but it has a regular travel schedule, which isn't locked to the weather patterns. Also, it's "Umbral Wind" and has nothing to do with the moon, instead having to do with the Umbral aspect of aether, dealing with recovery and rest (which, yeah, the rest bit sounds odd in that context, but the world is resting, not the wind, so yeah...).
