What on earth am I meant to do?

So I have gotten to the point in the storyline in which I must confront Good King Moggle Mog XII, I have hit level 50 but unfortunately my iLevel only has an average level 40.

So I think hey I will do some Main Scenario Duty Roulettes to get some Allagan Tomes, then I can buy some more items buuuuuuut the Average item level for that is Level 42.

So I can't even do that. How do I get the items to allow me to progress the storyline?

Several options:
-Buy crafted items from the market
-Run some 50 dungeons for gear
-Buy some gear from your Grand Company with seals... seals can be obtained from leves and FATEs

If you have friends of free company members you trust, and are into the Heavensward areas, you could ask them to buy you the i115 gear venders have in Ishgard, or front them the Gil for it. That's the biggest, easiest jump right now, but you need someone else to help you do it.

Did you get your job gear? What level is your weapon? If you have a lvl 50 weapon, which you can get from your grand company, and your job gear you should be over ilvl 42.

MSQ rewards ilvl 110 gear now isnt it?

The best option for someone with not a lot of gil and not a lot of friends is to finish your job quests (i45 and i50), buy i50 or so crafted accessories either from the vendor in Mor Dhona or off the Market Board, and buy the best weapon you can get from your Grand Company (i55). That should put you at i50 or i52 and at least enable you to get into content.

But yeah, the best and quickest option now would be to have a friend with access to Ishgard buy you a whole set of the new i115 stuff from vendors.

A simple question, have you finished your job quests? it give you AF gear (ilevel 45+) and now also ilevel90 gears.

Also, how can you have not good enough gear for CM if you are already at the Moogle fight? oO
Have you downgraded your gear instead of upgrading it?

Your lvl 45 job quest give you i50 gear and you lvl 50 gives you an i55 peice. Someone told me they actualy get the i90 gear from those quest now but all my jobs are at 50 so i cant verify. Do your job quest and your I lvl should be high enough.

Get your FC to help you out with finishing your ilvl. If they can't help you, and I don't know why any FC wouldn't help with that, you can hunt me down in game and I'll furnish you myself (I'm on Balmung too). I take pride in helping players with that little bump needed to start rushing and enjoying 2.0 end game content.

Your job quests at 45 and 50 now actually give you both i45 and i90 gear. You should have received parts that you picked up throughout the quest and then a chunk of rewards from the quest itself.

Those items alone will send you over i50 even if you're still in old level accessories.

For your weapon you can get your Grand Company weapon pretty inexpensively for Grand Company seals. There's also some accessories available there too. But really, your job quest rewards should be your first thing. Having six i90 pieces of gear will nudge you over that barrier no problem.
