I'm running on DX11 with GTX TITAN 353.38 driver. I haven't had any crash so far. 99% is the personal computer settings and combinations of other softwares + missing patch etc.

THIS ^^^ it FIXED all my issues!!!!
i did upgrade to 353.38 , but to no avail, it hanged and crashed 5 min into tthe game ...... back to dx9 , been playing for 3 hours.... SE please fix....
I also downloaded that driver and i continue to crash on both DX9 and 11
Yesterday I upgraded from a gtx670 which was working fine to a gtx970 and now I am experiencing the exact same problem all of you are having.
Constant appcrashes.
Windows 8.1
Drivers I have tried:
353.06
353.30
353.38
Every other game I play is fine.
Exactly , im starting to think that the problem lies inerently with the windows 8.1 combined with the 900 series GPUs (at least in teh case of nvidia) , because someone in the game that i talked to could run it without crashing with a 970 , but he was using windows 7 instead of 8 or 8.1.
I`m too running a 970 on Windows 8.1 and tryed the same drivers and some more, all installed with a clean install using DDU in safe mode.
DX9 still work completely ok, no crashing , no problems.
It is just Heavensward with a variety of models of cards, particularly 970 and especially the SC EVGA models. I am on windows 7 and tried literally everything and the ONLY thing that solved it was getting a different model of 970. Not EVGA or SC model. I tried reinstalling windows, replacing ram, replacing CPU, replacing power supply. It is 100% exclusive to Heavensward and certain models of video cards. I really really hope they fix it because I am borrowing a friends 970 and I only bought a EVGA 970 exclusively for FFXIV and it is totally useless with this issue happening.
I wanted to stop back and give you guys an update. I haven't had a crash in hours now and I wanted to share the steps I took. Now I don;t know if this is fixed for me or if it will fix it for you but hopefully it is fixed and hopefully it will work for you guys too.
Just to note, earlier when I posted, I was having the appcrash about every 5 to 15 minutes.
My last appcrash was while I was running the 353.06 drivers so I figured I had nothing to lose by just reinstalling 353.30 then installing the 353.38 hot fix over it.
This is exactly what I did:
- Went to Guru3D and downloaded "Display Driver Uninstaller"
- Uninstalled my driver through add/remove programs
- Restarted and booted in to Safe Mode
- Ran the Display Driver Uninstaller Utility
- Restarted and booted in to Windows
- Installed 353.30
- Installed the 353.38 Hotfix OVER 353.30 and DID NOT perform a clean install (The small check box in advanced installation mode)
- Restarted, loaded up FF and haven't had a crash since
- One last thing I want to note is that earlier I was also running in borderless window mode and I switched to Full Screen mode. I just wanted to add this because it may have been a fix too.
That's everything I did in that exact order.
Hope it helps someone!
Cheers
edit************
On my second day here, just hit 14 hours since my last crash. Seems that one of the things above has worked.
