Even if it's frustrating, your report of the issue free expirience with the msi is giving me hope for tomorrow when i get mineOkay, so I'm back. This morning I took my PC back to the tech store and told them the problem. They checked everything out, and said it was 'probably' a faulty graphics card. However, I asked if it would be okay to change brands because I'd heard the MSI cards were more reliable with the issue I was having, and so I changed it to an MSI GEFORCE GTX 970 OC edition. I got my PC back this morning at 10 'o' clock, and I've been playing for the past 8 hours with zero issues. It leads me to believe the problem we're all having, mainly, with the BSOD and black screen crashes, are directly related to the EVGA 970 SC cards in particular. I only got the EVGA SC last week from an upgrade of having an AMD 7850 and all it did was give me trouble. Having switched this morning to MSI, I've been left with a problem-free experience. It's early days, but it's looking positive. I really hope there's a fix eventually for anyone else that's got those cards in particular - and even if you haven't, a fix somehow. It's beyond frustrating.![]()
Just a mini update: I've been going on 24 hours now, and I've not had one problem. FFXIV runs great, Witcher 3 runs great, and also GW2 runs great. These were all games that were causing me to black screen and BSOD. So far so good. It's the first time I've used MSI, but they seem really reliable. Still, it's very early days.
