EVGA GTX 970 Upgrade yesterday, and is now giving me Blue Screen problems

Hello everyone

Okay, so I recently upgraded from a AMD 7800 series card to a EVGA GTX 970 card yesterday. I got my friend to install it and stuff, since I'm really not good at the technical side of building/tweaking a computer. So, he installed it and all was good until this morning when I woke up. I was playing FFXIV in full screen when it suddenly went black, and the PC suddenly restarted itself. The screen itself was still black until I forcefully restarted it by holding down the power button. Afterwards I tried the game again, and 10 minutes later it did the exact same thing. Both times I've had the same 'Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" and says it was a BlueScreen, Locale ID: 2057. If anyone's able to help me I'd really appreciate it - the game's running beautifully and I'd like to play :P ... Other stuff I've tried are: changing the settings, rolling back to older Nvidia drivers, and using CCleaner to clean the registry, but I've still yet to correct the problem.

No this is a huge and known problem right now with the 970 card and others and I have no clue if SE is aware of even going to address it. I have practically lost my mind this last week trying to find the problem, replacing cpu, changing hardware, swapping my ram, cleaing hard drive, trying windows fixes. The problem is 100% only happening in Heavensward with DX11 and it will constantly crash my whole computer. Check this thread.

joBEfiSH, thank you so much for that link. It seems as though this is a huge problem with people. I've reverted back to DX9 and it works like a charm. Come on, SE, please sort this out ASAP.

This isn't SE"s fault its your video drivers not working right with 11

NP! It has been driving me up the wall trying to mess with hardware and settings to get it to work but it seems like it is a issue with DX11 and Heavensward specifically. I am really really hoping they are aware of this issue and can fix it ASAP because it looks SO much better in DX11.

YES!!!! ITS NOT MY COMPUTER! I've been pulling my hair out!!!! UGH!
Please Square get this fixed... I literally built my computer to play your game on DX11 and I cannot because of this crashing bug, whats worse is it doesn't crash FFXIV it crashes my entire PC

Okay, I may have spoke too soon. DX9 is now crashing for me. Oh dear... I don't know what else to do.

Just wanna chip in and say that I have also been crashing on the DX11 client and not the DX9, with the same symptoms. Seems to be crashing the Graphics Card forcing a restart of the computer, I am running a GTX970 SC, and I have tried with literally NOTHING running except FF14 and I have rolled back with clean driver installs through the past 4 releases, all resulted in crashes and random times.

Sometime it runs for 12 hours, other times 5mins

I have exactly the same card, GunnarBerwerf. However I'm on Windows 7.
