Are we ever getting new housing wards?

I don't recall ever seeing SE mention anything about never adding new wards again, but are they secretly doing just that or something? The last few updates gave us no new housing wards (and I figured the expansion would come with at least a few...). I'm sure a few of the less populated servers have open houses, but that is sadly not the case on the populated servers. Literally all of the housing plots in all wards (in all cities) are taken - and HAVE been - for a long time. They already screwed up by making personal and FC houses share the same wards, and now it seems they're not making up for it by consistently adding new wards.

I know other things are probably more important for them right now (such as this new expansion), but I would hope that they don't just give up on the housing system altogether (especially since there are tons of FC's out there waiting for a spot to open up so they can buy a house).

I kinda was hoping they were going to open a new housing area in Corethas or Ishgard but I can dream (I love snow). I can only assume they will at one point add more slots, especially with the Airship.

From what my wife said (she reads the Japanese FFXIV news, so might be more reliable), there will be new housing in Ishgard with the 3.1 patch.

Actually, they stated a while ago an Isghardian housing ward was not coming for quite a long time (due to the storyline not allowing it), however they did effectively confirm new housing wards for Gridania, Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa are planned for addition sometime around Heavensward's launch - given the expansion is now live it's anyone's guess when that will be (3.1 patch would be a good guess) -

From what my wife said (she reads the Japanese FFXIV news, so might be more reliable), there will be new housing in Ishgard with the 3.1 patch.

And it'll be ungodly expensive, and gone within 2 minutes on Excalibur.

They may as well not add any, ever, at this rate.

I'd love to see a source on that Japanese news. If it's just a player forum then it may very well be just some odd person mis-interpreting the devs.

I wouldn't expect housing areas to be added in 3.1 because there will be new players who start from scratch in 3.0, one patch is not enough time for them to make enough money (as a whole---obviously there will be a minority who can make the billions in 3.0, but they are few) and if Ishgard is going to get a housing zone, it'd be at the earliest 3.2. Additional wards in existing zones may very well be implemented by 3.1, though.

She may have read they are adding additional housing space in 3.1, not space in Ishgard. Though she did say they will eventually add houses in Ishgard.

She browses on her cell phone, so I never really know exactly where she's reading. Though I believe in this case it was a live letter or something related to a Yoshi-P interview.
