Question about Midgarsormr (Post Heavensward spoilers)

After all is said and done, Midgarsormr says what he needs to say in regards to how man and dragon will need a lot of time to and he flies off. Does that imply he is done with his duties and no longer needs to shadow the Warrior of Light or is it one of those "Yo, call me when ya need me" sort of deals?

I guess we can't save her from her own self-pity, much as Estinien said of Lady Iceheart.
It was really sad to see though. Reminded me to some extent of the water dragon in Jade Empire.

I can see us freeing tiamat, so that she can attone for her sins. The only reason she stays locked up is for self punishment so this is away to make up for that

Could you imagine if we had freed her before the end of Coil? Seeing her suddenly show up to help put her hubby down would have been great.
