So I've been on queue for pvp for 2 hours now... what. Is the PvP community in ARR non- existent as of now? To be perfectly honest, all I want is the I70 chest piece for vanity, but I can't even find one game... halp.

A few things:
1. It looks like you're on Chocobo which is a Japanese data center. If you queue 6-11 PM JST you'll most likely get more frequent queues.
2. Because you're on a japanese data center, queue ONLY japanese language for pvp. Otherwise you'll never get a match.
3. Frontlines is much more popular than wolves den, so as you're just starting out, I'd suggest you only queue for frontlines.
4. Due to the expansion just launching 1 week ago, most of the pvp regulars are busy doing the main story quest and leveling up their alts. The most recent patch also did almost nothing for PvPers (the best pvp gear is still i110 and they didn't raise pvp rank) so there's not much incentive to do it now. I've had 2 frontlines matches since the expansion, but the queues have definitely been much longer than usual. In about 4 weeks they're releasing a new frontlines mode and they'll likely release new pvp gear and up the PvP rank. I guarantee when that comes out the queues will be much shorter as more people will want to PvP (myself included).
Oh. I thought pvp sort of worked like instances as to where you party up with other people from different servers. I'll queue up around those times then. I appreciate the insight. Thanks a ton~
Np! It does work like instances and it will grab from all servers on your data center. You're on a Japanese data center though (if you're on chocobo as the forum suggests to the left), so most players will be from there.
Yeah this game doesn't have the PvP of others either though and with the expack having just released I'm sure there are even fewer doing it atm. I've run a few matches over the past few weeks but haven't since er started.
Ive had one pop since early access. Im figuring it'll be a couple weeks before It returns to the 40 min ques lol.
Glad the pvp update is going to be in like 4 weeks should be enough time for people to level and get q'ing again.
Pvp ques atm are extremely long, I have only had 10 matches so far. It will get better as more and more people are not doing the story/lvling/getting law/killing hunt monsters.
Usually on Mana data center (like mine) , JP frontline is pretty crowd at above 9 pm GMT +9 before 3.0 patch. And don't forget to check J language on Duty.
I'm pretty much Qing for PvP all the time when I'm playing. Since early access started I've had about 8 - 10 matches only. I see on the frontline standings that many players have a lot more matches going on in my Datacenter. How they do it I have no idea.
The new expansion will probably have to "settle in" before PvP kicks in for full, but as of now it's pretty dead.
Just for fun: I don't know if these numbers are correct at all, but I've been trying to estimate how many players are "serious" about PvPing.
Lets say there are 500000 subscribers in total where 50000 is on my datacenter. As a wild guess 10% of these are "serious players" (ie play more than 1.5 hrh on an average each day).
Thats 5000 dedicated players. Again, a wild guess estimate that only about 5% of these are "serious" (ie actually want to PvP) PvP players.
Thats a total of 250 "serious" PvP players on my datacenter. Again, just for fun. I have no idea how close to the truth this is.
