It's so you can get a Sacred Soil buff for partywide damage (ex: primal phase changes) when you have WHM/AST in the party.
Peach Parfait/Khulan Angura on Gilgamesh
And then gimp yourself because you can't heal while you're doing it or cancel the effect meanwhile a scholar can just throw down sacred soil and cast succor/emergency tactics/do whatever they feel like while the 10% damage reduction is going on.
It's needlessly restricted for the sake of being restricted.
It just need not a pump or a buff it need a but or a total restyling , lol because it's an unplayable move.
Speaking on Tranquility... Tranq + symbiosis shaman in SoO = broken.
There's a reason they got rid of Symbi. Spirtwalker's Grace(cast while moving) + channeled HoT on roids = LOL.
It could be a great spell but the way the Sects are set up just sabotages the whole thing.
1. Diurnal is generally so much better. Especially with the regens stacking.
2. Since Diurnal is better, you're already in Diurnal when the fight starts.
3. Since you're in Diurnal you can't make use of the shield benefit.
It could be neat if two astrologians both use it on top of each other though.
Yeah must test this xD but if the reegens stacks u can have a very powerful regen with the Collective Unconscious activated.
You drop it as soon as the Primal has used their big AoE damage, and then start healing. You'll be a second off with your healing compared to SCH/WHM; it's not a huge deal. And then gimp yourself because you can't heal while you're doing it or cancel the effect meanwhile a scholar can just throw down sacred soil and cast succor/emergency tactics/do whatever they feel like while the 10% damage reduction is going on.

Feeling the need for 15y range. I don't like making the party play around the move when it's not that strong in the first place, nor should they even if it's power was where it should be. If I cast it and the dps collapse in only for me to cancel it immediately because the tank took a spike, really I made the whole party work for absolutely nothing.
15y is reasonable and a pretty standard range to stay by for aoe heals, as long as fight mechanics don't demand otherwise(That guy who always stands in a corner as far away as possible from everyone else not withstanding). It also means you can catch the tank in it against larger enemies without getting hit with cleaves, dragon breath, etc.
I honestly can't say its worth it myself either. I've tried several times and I can't tell a big difference. In a way it does FEEL like its helping in Nocturnal, I can pop Aether, top up the tank, throw a shield and cast Collective Unconscious to allow myself time to regen MP but I honestly can't say for sure. I look at the damage the tank takes during this time and I don't see much, if at all, any real reduction in damage.
