As title people. Let's all write here our astrological thought about this skill.
I think SE have really to change it, so we can at least use actions during its effect.

Should act more like Ley Lines where you cast it and then you're free to do what you want but you have to stay inside it for the effect to last.
FYI that's not actually how Ley Lines functions now iirc. Pretty sure they removed that before launch so BLM can now move in and out of the buff circle at will.
HOWEVER- I do support this idea, as in it's current state it's a very situational skill.
Ah I haven't really been paying attention to BLM so I didn't know that was the case.
^ absolutely
I feel like it'd give more of an AST feeling if it should rely on your timing! That means the shield should be available at all times and the effect is ongoing as long as you hold that spell button down. You cannot do anything else in the mean time anyway so it'll require precise timing of that defensive spell (even though that'd be fun to do, it'd break the spell but IMO, not doing anything while it's up, why not?)

Liked your idea. In my opinion, the spell should have a 30sec cooldown and should last for 30sec. It should end upon recast and the cooldown should begin after spell fades. So, if you want to be standing still like some sort of statue, at least you can do it with some benefit. And you can always stop the spell early so you do some other thing, the draw back is that you have to wait the whole CD for it to be used again.I feel like it'd give more of an AST feeling if it should rely on your timing! (Probably they would reduce the regen potency with this, but it's OK for me...)
I'd suggest that they at least give us the use of draw and set it to the global cooldown while under the Collective Unconscious effect.
Trying to rapid fire buffs out effectively will at least keep us on our toes for the 18s. There is just nothing fun about standing still...
Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.
Diurnal sect its very very very very powerful. Going afk whilst stack regen effects is silly.
Noturnal sect is where i have major concerns. What we have is sacred soil, yet we have to be basically stood in the mechanics ourselves to use it. My concern is the damage mitigated is not worth the risk of endangering yourself as a healer. Take for example progressing through t13 mechanics as a Nocturnal Astrologian, having to stand so close to others that have megaflare circles to mitigate damage, putting yourself at risk. This risk is not worth it. Its sacred soil with more risk, more niche uses and flat out could not be used when dealing with certain mechanics where you, as AST, can not afford to be stood in the bad as well.
As for the not being able to do anything whilst chanelling this move, that i am not bothered about, its putting a higher skill ceiling on the job.
