Sorry but no. The reason it's such a stretch is because Archer and Bard are completely opposite ends of the spectrum. Everything else regardig the jobs makes sense. LNC to DRG. PGL to MNK. Etc. Archer to Bard makes zero sense. It's wielding 2 completely different things that are wildly unrelated, which is part of the reason that weapon looks so ridiculous. It's also mixing 2 roles that a lot of players are going to dislike having mixed. If their goal is to be a support class, aka Bard, 99% of players are going to be uninterested at best in playing Archer.

And beyond all that... it's just a dumb and lazy idea, dude. They're obviously trying to squeeze a job into a class where it doesn't belong because the Armoury system is so rigid.

Plus, what other weapons are we going to see for a "barcher?" A bowcarina? A pianbow? A blute? Or is it only gonna be harp-bows?

    It's just silly.
But no one complained about XI's Corsair's abilities to buff and deal massive damage. because it was well implemented.

And people have been asking for gunblades, gunwhatever for a year now, how is it less silly? Again, it will depend on how it is implemented.

All we saw was concept art of one weapon, we are not even sure what that exactly is.

Yep if they played it as more than a BRD with a gun. Wildfire alone puts it in top tier damage unless you were fighting mobs that laughed at magical damage.

Hell, even Quick Draws dealt a fair amount of damage buffed, especially with Empyrean Armor+2.

this would be fine if bard was its own job, like corsair is, but i think people would have felt different about corsair, if ranger became corsair after 70.
lets say after 70 your ranger became corsair, they give you the option to cap your ranger at 70 and be a ranger, or cap it at 75 and be a corsair, with full access to merits. Also lets assume bard/smn (other buffing classes) ceased to exist. I think then youd find that most rangers would be pissed, and most people who want to be buffers would be like why dont i get my own job. and a bunch of people would be like this job system doesnt make too much sense, what does ranger have to do with corsaire.
