Just a note that I spotted on the hi-res pic guys:

The dude in the evil armor seens to be wielding a scythe and not a lance :P

I tried to outline what I think I see, but I may as well be wrong:

(may as well be part of the lance design above the blade, or some part of his armor/raised leg, but based by the early designs it could be.

I dont know it doesnt make much sense to me for him to be in that pose with his hand so far down the weapon's shaft if that is a scythe.

don't be so sure, a scythe is a sweeping weapon, take into account dramatic promo art posing, and it's quite logical to believe he's 'reaping'.

Actually, look at the color of the pole and the color of the supposed scythe blade. They are different. And if you look past where his lower arm is, you'll notice that he has a knee up. That blade may be part of the shin armor. Or it might not. Dunno.
