You can definitely have more than one job, but probably can't be BLM on your CON and WHM on your THM even though there's no point why not. I'm pretty sure they haven't thought it through this much though, judging by there decisions so far.
Ok that makes me feel a little better. There is still the restriction in the sense CLASS -> JOB but if I level multiple classes I can have multiple jobs. That makes me feel better.
Ok I just did some research on FFXI about artifact armors. They were designed to give people the classic looks of the jobs. So, my question is when I get my artifact armor for my job did u ever need to upgrade in FFXI? Were they always the best? Did it kill gear progression? HOw did artifact armors fit into the grand scheme of things in terms of gear progression?
Now i have a full reason to cap my lancer !!!!
They were all level 50-60 armors.Ok I just did some research on FFXI about artifact armors. They were designed to give people the classic looks of the jobs. Most people didn't equip entire sets, just the best pieces.
They were replaced later by AF2 armor from dynamis, which was for the most part palette swapped versions of the other gear.
Just a note that I spotted on the hi-res pic guys:
The dude in the evil armor seens to be wielding a scythe and not a lance :P
I tried to outline what I think I see, but I may as well be wrong:

(may as well be part of the lance design above the blade, or some part of his armor/raised leg, but based by the early designs it could be.

they were often the most job centered gear available, and the first time around the best for their level. they eventually added upgrades to them, and a different set, that had different bonuses. Overall they didnt destroy gear progression on most classes, because they had gear swapping in combat, and they were specialized into boosting job abilities/stats/roles. Since some job abilities/traits/roles/stats werent necessarily highly focused on one specialty, some of them were considered to be vanity peices.Ok I just did some research on FFXI about artifact armors. For example, while you may like a crown that gives you 5 mind (mdef and boost to spiritual dmg skill) and a boost to ACC when you use a specific monk job skill, most people overall rather have a haste headpeice, or one that reduces your dmg recieved.
Of course ffxi was a very different game, and gear progression was extremely horizontal as the game progressed, so it only tells you so much about this game.
I see what you're talking about, but since this game doesn't have scythes, that's a far-fetched idea.Just a note that I spotted on the hi-res pic guys:

More likely you merely can't see the point of the lance because it's behind the WHM's head.
I think that dude is carrying a lance. The last spike thing on what looks like his back is a spear-head. Just my interpretation.Just a note that I spotted on the hi-res pic guys:

I think you may be right. There's no way a Dragoon would be wearing such evil armor in the first place...Just a note that I spotted on the hi-res pic guys:

Edit: Someone made an observation about the Archer Job too. Check out the bow. there appears to be strings on it that do not serve any functional purpose...but if you turn that bow upside down, it looks like it could become a lute. Bard Ranger?!
