That's no harp. To me it looks like something that would increase the velocity and the momentum of the arrow fired. It could be more than that but I instantly came to this conclusion upon seeing it and based on theory.

This is the original source: (Famitsu "Connect On!" magazine, to be published on 9/27)
The big title is "FFXIV, first anniversary and beyond", this cover is illustrated by art director Yoshida Akehiko, and the cover story will be the interview of our Yoshi-P.
Obviously the characters are one-to-one correspond to current 7 classes, but their gears are derived from the "Job artifacts" (AF) of FFXI, especially PLD, WHM, BLM, and MNK.
(Edit: I must emphasize, the original design of these gears can trace back to FFI ~ FFIII, but its the FFXI that first use them as "identity of jobs")
The DRG can be identified from its headgear, which is the trademark of most famous DRG of FF series, Cain (FFIV).
But the RNG is very confusing, because the hat is somewhat like RDM and there is a harp on her bow.
After all, the Job system supposed to be go live on v1.21 is still far away, and maybe we will get more information from the interview inside. I MUST pre-order one today...

Sorry, but the gear did not derive from FFXI.

Oh God *_* Yoshi-p posted month ago the concept of 2 set:

Are same in the cover.
This looks pretty cool, arch-bard is interesting to say the least!
But...
Look at the top guy in dark armor (dragoon - dark knight~ish) it looks like he has a shield and a dagger to me.
A small shield on his right arm and a dagger pointing backward in his left hand... or are my eyes playing tricks

yeah, so i downloaded the pic and looked at it at 400% and that dragoon is defiantly holding a scythe, do doubt. So, maybe its not a dragoon after all. Ive heard the term dragon knight and people said that was a dragoon but maybe its not. maybe se is saving dragoon to be a pet class as a 2nd or 3rd job for lancer.Makes more sense when you think about it.
So we're getting the same old boring armors that have been in the franchise for so many years?
...What.
How about some...new designs please? I wanted to play FF14. Not "Nostalgia of all the old-school FFs".
