But didn't the three musketeers use swords... It's an innocent mistake.
Okay, it's still a pretty stupid mistake.

Lol sorry to burst your bubble guys but I hiiighly doubt that's a harp lol. For one; harps don't have just 4 strings, second; harps dont have thick pieces of wood/metal going through the middle of the strings. Also do you know how rediculously hard it would be to go from shooting an arrow to playing a harp on the end of a bow with only 4 strings and a piece of wood in the middle of said strings to shooting another arrow?
This is a fantasy game I understand but.. just no..

I don't know man, http://i56.tinypic.com/2h81fs5.jpg just because it's missing 1 string wouldn't mean anything. People would complain that it would be too "complex" to play if they make a harp with all appropriate amounts of string.Lol sorry to burst your bubble guys but I hiiighly doubt that's a harp lol. sorry it just doesn't make sence. i'd sooner assume that it's some sort of crossbow attachment. But we won't really know until we get to play with it.I don't know man, http://i56.tinypic.com/2h81fs5.jpg just because it's missing 1 string wouldn't mean anything. I'd also like to point out that the WHM and BLM are not holding their weapons while they cast. Could that just be artistic liscence or are we going back to the good old days of not having to be engaged to cast?

I'm pretty sure I recall Matsui saying mages will be able to cast without having to be in Active Mode soon.sorry it just doesn't make sence. i'd sooner assume that it's some sort of crossbow attachment. But we won't really know until we get to play with it.

I can see it being a crossbow attatchment and I really like the idea ^^ especially if it's used as a weapon skill!sorry it just doesn't make sence. i'd sooner assume that it's some sort of crossbow attachment. But we won't really know until we get to play with it.

You wouldn't have to go back and forth, since they would be two separate... hmm I'd say jobs but the other is a class lolLol sorry to burst your bubble guys but I hiiighly doubt that's a harp lol. What you say make sense though
Look closer at the picture, that "piece of wood" as you call it! Is not in the middle of the strings its the back of the harp... it's a handle, so the strings are in front of it. Also there would be more than 4 strings, the "WOOD" (handle) is blocking view of at least 2 strings it looks like. So seems like there is 6 strings, again this is concept art. (Google 6 string harp.. I found like 1 lol)Lol sorry to burst your bubble guys but I hiiighly doubt that's a harp lol. If you look, a part of the "harp" extends down near where the arrows are nocked. Maybe, just maybe, when arrows are fired it vibrates that deal, which in turn vibrates the strings to produce notes. Maybe there's some mechanism for changing the tune of the notes as well to produce different effects.
Firing arrows rapidly (Which characters seem capable of: quick nock) might be able to produce music, buffing nearby players and perhaps debuffing enemies via the music, or when the shots land.
...Far fetched? Yes. Doesn't make it any less possible.
