WTF!! Need to be level 50 to use muskets! HEAVENSWARD

I have been waiting since game day one of FF14 to use muskets. I've left the game and game back a dozen times because of the clunky problems that have always been a part of it. But I love the genre and the people who play this game are great. and I like the game enough to keep it installed.

Now Muskets are FINALLY available, I bought Heavensward in hopes of using them but I now find out I have to be level 50 to use them. So now I'm stuck grinding levels in the main quest which is just NO FUN AT ALL. Just to use a ranged weapon that is common among NPCs in Limsa.

Am I wrong do we really have to be level 50 to use guns?

You have to complete main scenario far enough into the story that you are allowed access to Ishgard so that you can unlock the job that uses them (that process will push you to 50 on one job). So, yes...in a round-about way you have to reach 50 at least once so that you can unlock the job. That job starts at 30 though.

You can also buy a car at the age of 10 but you still won't be able to drive until legal age.
Fyi you also cannot get the best gear in the game at level one even though you paid for it.
Some jobs in this game require that you spend some time. Teust me, when you get it it will feel so much sweeter.
