    DX11 Reflections - Quality

Anyone notice that the reflections in the DX11 client are not only blocky but also seem to animate at a much lower frame rate than the things being reflected? Try watching the reflection of the aetheryte in Idyllshire in the circle around it on the floor (easiest place to get to to see what I mean).

Could we get an option/slider to set the reflection quality - presuming it was implemented using a shader that allows for quality control.

Not at all, the reflections are beautiful on the floors, especially the wood ones, well any floor for that matter that reflects.

Can you take a screenshot please, because I see blocky like this.

See the block edges? That's not of animations but I'll try and make a video of it.

Yeah, a lot of the dx11 effects look half assed. Even the water tessellation, which I was really looking forward to, hardly makes a difference. The tessellation in general is pretty weak.

Could be due to high quality real time reflections potentially decreasing your frame rate by 30-40%, don't see why they don't have the option though.

Screen-space reflections are typically rendered at 50% or 25% resolution for obvious performance reasons. Looks like they opted for 25%.

You can mitigate this by downsampling from a higher resolution, though obviously that will hit your framerate that much harder. I personally play at 3.3k horizontal resolution (can't be arsed to look up the exact numbers right now) at a near-solid 60 FPS, but then, I'm running two GTX 970s, so YMMV.

Do you use a telescope to read the game's UI at that scale?

Higher resolution makes the text much easier to read when it's smaller as well. They could also have a 40" monitor :P
