    The S/A rank hunts are clearly designed exactly for people to zerg them as a never-ending seal farm. It's just designed for those who likes to do it. If you don't like it, don't do it. I don't.

    Yes I upgrade my gear slower than those who zerg hunts, so what? Only 170 is required to enter Alexander. And Alexander (Normal) most certainly will drop the upgrade tokens, too. And it's not that I don't get any seals. Daily hunts also give seals.

    I just ignore the S/A rank hunts like I ignore PvP. Those are stuff that I don't like, so they're clearly not designed for me. Let other people have their fun.

    Now on the topic of the toxic people that invariably pop up to ruin the good atmosphere for others.

    Free-for-all systems like this tend to bring out the worst in people. Greed and selfishness. Farming these gives people a sense of superiority (I have 180, you've only got 170, I skill elite, you noob lol) and that virtual superiority is exactly what these people look for in MMORPGs. Of course not everyone who do hunts are like this. I'm specifically pointing to those jerks that inevitably exist.

    Lack of a real server community to exert peer pressure means that the world has no rules. ("I know that guy, he's got a stinking mouth and nobody likes him, let's not party with him." This used to mean something when you need to maintain a passable reputation if you want to party with the skilled players.) There's an enormous grey zone into which GMs will not venture; it is in this grey zone that these people thrive, and the only way to deal with them is to assume they don't exist.

    If it wasn't hunts, these people will do their stuff somewhere else. Those jerks in the DF? Yes, they're the same people. They are the types portrayed in survival stories that revert to their very primal instincts the moment they realize nobody is there to enforce moral rules upon them. They take joy in annoying more people while ensuring their own gain. It is an achievement for them to be "above the (moral) law".

    The hunts are designed to accommodate those people. Like the DF. It is clearly part of the design intent.

    Hunts have always been up and down. They were reasonably ok in 2.3, then in 2.4 no one did them so you couldn't even get a group together sometimes, then 2.5 they made them necessary to upgrade the poetics gear and by the time you got the call about the hunt it was probably already pulled and dead which continued till they implemented the CT marathon weekly when they went back to about 2.3 level.

    Now people are desperate to get centrino seals and just generally impatient, this combined with the stupid instancing of areas means that hunts are almost impossible to reach unless your already in the area, and sometimes not even then.

    What I'm saying is that they will eventually calm down again and until then there's not much we can do about it, so you can either keep trying to get to them (in which case I say all power to you and wish you luck) or accept that unless your lucky and one falls in your lap you wont get any of them.

    Hunts are the least entertaining aspect of this expansion for me. They're terrible, and I'm baffled at the decision to add them in the same fashion as the 2.0 hunts. Surely they seen how disliked they were? They could have re-vamped the system and made it interesting as opposed to the same old tedious, mind numbing and frustrating one which we have.

    It really feels like SE looked at the data and went 'Yup, people must love hunts, everyone and their mum are doing them! Add more!'.

    There are a lot of people rushing things from what I see, but things are also much better than they were when hunts first released.

    You get 110 seals every day from mark bills and 100 seals from the weekly elite mark bill. You can full gear a class in i180 in 3 weeks and 2 days without touching A or S ranks.

    And this is why we needed i170-i175 crafted gear!!!!

    To give ppl another option in gearing up for alex.

    Im sure lots of ppl have millions of gil and would rather buy meldable gear than to be toxic about hunts cuz they missed it etc.

    it also baffles me that they didn't learn from hunts in 2.0. Its a joke how long and hard fates are(they are not HARD, don't get me wrong but if you are near one, its not worth doing it since everythign is kinda buffed and takes way too long to kill) with that many people in areas they go down in 5 secs. Why not just buff them a lot, like fates. So if a certain amount of people is close the hp and def rises - or - if the hp goes down fast, the def. rises a lot making it a loooot longer to kill.

    And on the other hand... just give us more options to earn hunt marks. Maybe also as a combo in dungeons. That would also give incentive to do them besides helping friends and - later on- tomes.

    they did a lot of things right in heavensward, but the core problems are untouched. that is really disappointing.
    - hunts are basicly a joke right now
    - dungeon-qs for dps still are same bad
    - let's hope that endgame will get more positive changes ...

    Hunts are now easier than FATEs and give upgrade items for better stuff than dungeon drops. Stupid. They're really the one bad thing about the game that didn't get fixed in the expansion.

    I proposed some time ago making a separate weekly elite bill, which would require slaying 3 or 5 dungeon/trial bosses to receive 100 or 120 seals. This also promotes more dungeon queueing for newcomers aswell as people needing to complete certain dungeons for whatever reason (relic for example).


    I used to post a lot on how we shouldn't complain about not being able to reach a hunt which we haven't been looking for (the real purpose of the hunts). If someone calls a mark, of course I'll go, but I wouldn't complain if I don't make it. However, this now has changed. There are certain apps that tell you when and where a hunt spawns, which gives people no chance at all of "farming" marks by looking for them, because someone else will find it instantly. We have to rely on those calls now, field instances just made it worse.

    We have daily bills indeed, but you're asking people to log in, do quick bills in under 15 mins and sit in town for the rest of the day when our gear upgrade is gated behind them.

    leveling AST yesterday when we all started lagging and some red icon popped.....then chat exploded ....was amusing how things changed
    from LFG !!! to WAIT PLEASE!!! to T_T / Rage calling names ...in less than 1 min , is 2.3 all over again

    I don't mind doing the hunts but this is not the answer for upgrading gear. Should have done it another way to be honest. And weren't hunts mean't as a catchup mechanic?, why the hell are they an integral part of advancing now!?!?!
