Would be great if SE attach N2O tanks to all ground mounts.really love to see my turtle boost up his speed like F-1.

Honestly, after all that ground mounting I've done and will continue to do in new zones until flight is unlocked, going back to older zones seem so much better with the smaller areas. It feels much quicker now, besides a zone or two, of course. Large zone is still large. Regardless...HW has made the slower ground life easier in older zones.
Not that I would ever be against increasing their speed and anyone who disagrees is disagreeing for the sake of conflict with others. Such is life on the internet. But it still does feel faster in older zones compared to the behemoth HW zones, so there's that for you, and it's probably all you'll ever get. We may as well embrace it for whatever it's worth.
As Yoshi-P himself has mentioned, it is intentional that the 3.0 zones are huge and that this hugeness is reinforced by the time it takes to traverse them on the ground. It is also intentional to make flying essential for navigating the zones at the speed that players are used to from 2.0.
As SuddenStorm8 describes, making it a 3-D maze is intentional for: forcing the players to explore and experience the entire zone on the ground before they can fly over it; increasing the difficulty and time required to complete quests; and making it more difficult to unlock flying in each zone. The maps also seem to be intentionally cryptic.
Regarding MMO delayed gratification: it is well-known that a) many players want everything immediately but that b) players also enjoy completing difficult and/or time-consuming tasks before other players can complete them. For the few players who actually appreciate not being handed everything on a silver platter, the reward may be more meaningful if it is tied to completing a particularly arduous (and often tedious or unpleasant) task.
It's paradoxical, but the more infuriating and time-consuming a task is, the greater the opportunity for some players to complete it before others have, increasing their status in the game. Certain players love this, and SE caters to them at the beginning of each patch. Others can find it to be an unsurmountable barrier to having fun, and this is why SE seems to nerf things over time to make it easier for all players to experience the game and acquire all of the rewards. This devalues the rewards over time, but new rewards are created and the cycle repeats.
Personally, I like the idea of 3-D navigation mazes, even though I also find them infuriating at times.

It's perfectly ok to want faster ground mount speed albeit the consequence is that flying mounts will be made even faster to distinguish the two, thereby making flying more superior regardless. So you think it's weird to ask for mount speeds in an MMO, especially one that has massive zones? Like come on, have you not played any other MMO? It's a perfectly normal idea.
All I'm saying, ground mounts should still be a viable option in future for people who actually like to admire the zone. It shouldn't be an "intended" idea to create dead-ends for ground mounts. Place some rocks, so we could climb the damn heights instead of taking huge detours. Add some upgradable mount speeds. Why is a chicken moving faster than a tiger? Sigh.
The point is flying is here as a point of attraction and se will not make running a substitute for it I don't think.
Hey you ever played City of Heroes?
Super jump user here. All other travel powers are for losers!
You know that button, the one that fires the guns/breathes fire/shoots electricity/sneezes, make it do AoE damage.
Ground mounts = useful again![]()
And make the old maps feel more smaller?2. Where are the mount speeds?! These new zones are massive and it's one of the reasons why flying is so much better because its mount speed is faster. Ground mounts need an upgrade system at this point. I would highly suggest that they introduce a mount speed upgrade questline similar to Relic weapons. For example, start at 100% and then upgrade in small increments like 110%, 120%, etc and then cap at 150% for now.
Ground speed is ok. It fit into the old maps and encourage the players to unlock flying in the new maps.
Having played WoW, I'd rather the mounts don't increase their speed. Be it ground or flying.
