Good realm for starting up?

I'm fairly new, played at launch but didn't get very far and looking to start over. Due to personal reasons I'd rather not be on the server I'm on and would like to find a new server. I tried one and it seems very empty, so besides all the locked servers are any populated enough to see others around me while leveling?

Sadly I think atleast for awhile you won't see many ppl at the lower areas beside Hunts.

Legacy server so it's always populated, and I've noticed a large increase in "new leaf" player characters since Heavensward opened up.

So I tried out Cactaur (spelling aside) and it's more populated but outside cities is still virtually empty minus the random bots. I know they're bots because they stand around in the FATE and hit like once every 30 secs without actually helping.

So I understand everyone is doing the expansion stuff, but I don't know I was hoping for more of a catch up system then there is. Sure the extra exp on the story quests are nice and all but it doesn't help fill the gaps between them. It's grindy as it always was, but it's not boring grindy. It's empty and lonely and boring, guess there just isn't any new players here to actually play with.

Definitely find a new guild/free company as once you are in you will feel a lot less lonely.

As for the content, once you hit level 30-ish you will start to see lots of people because of the new jobs starting at lvl30 (includin gfates and dungeons).

Their location says California. Server will be dead for them at peak times. If they were Eu then it's a good suggestion.
