some game have try to make a sort of solo mmorpg like kingdom of amalur, but well, we know how well it did sell. (sadly)

the core design behind mmorpg, it's do think while communicating with other person, the first mmorpg was like this, a chat that did offer activity to do while chatting.

but as the time did pass, the core mechanic did evolve. the solo part sure is important, but for all the dungeon and grouping, it's still a major part of the mmorpg, deny this it's.... well idiot!
you want the story to be purely solo? believe me it's far from what it was, where even battle story was involving group. but it don't change the sole fact than play a mmorpg for not play with other player... is... well... you have other game out for this.

another point, a looot of the mmorpg component (quest, progression, area genre) are often used into recent game. even game like Dragon Age inquisition feel more like a mmorpg solo, that really a rpg. when you add an open world component into a rpg, it get really close too of the mmorpg. but i digress.

ff14 is a mmorpg, the dungeon and the grouping are part of it. if you don't like this and don't want to do it. sorry but it will not change and thanks god. play a mmorpg as a solo game... is sad! really sad!
