Can we just play Padjals
A female Au Ra can be shorter than Alphinaud i do believe. There's a childlike optionI don't get the opposition of this thread. Child characters were playable in plenty of other games. I guess everyone hopped on the opposition train for some reasons.
In my opinion though, this character looks too young to be doing anything especially since, unlike lalafells, children are not strong or capable for combat. I wouldn't mind though a new childlike race since this game is lacking in this category. The choices you currently have are normal humanoids, very large humanoids and deformed babies. We don't have a smaller humanoid options such as Alphinaud and the Padjals. It could also have animal traits to please the people who are tired of humanoids such as the Tactic A2 moogles and since people are very fond of bunnies, make them bunnies.
Voila, problem solved.
I love these threads.
The reasons why we can't have child like characters are just plain hilarious. There are games where kids are/would be treated far worse than they would in XIV. They still were published, the companies publishing them are still going strong, and there was no media whiplash for it.
srsly. If you don't want child characters, just own up and say you don't want them. Don't try to hide behind some 'THINK OF THE CHILDRENZZ' excuse that is just plain BS in an attempt to come out a hero. lol I doubt anyone would judge you for not liking kids.

What games if you don't mind me asking? TERA gets constantly bashed everywhere for being the centre for children loving paedophile Elin ERPers constantly, on Reddit especially. In Skyrim you can't kill children and there's very few of them, the same goes for the Witcher 3 and most other AAA games, I don't even think there are children in GTA V. You were able to kill children back in Fallout 1 or 2 but that way back when the media wasn't so focused on video games, and even now the artists gets flack for that image he drew of the Vault Boy kicking a pregnant woman's belly for the child killer achievement/perk or something that didn't even make it into the game IIRC. Children in video games are quite clearly a very touchy subject, and there's absolutely no denying that. There is a difference between murdering children and making them playable, but you will run into problems with the swimsuits and subligars unless they were to censor those on child races.I love these threads.

Dude...
Can we please give this thread the death it deserves? We're straight up not getting playable children in this game, and the first few pages of this thread is the very pinnacle of this forum's toxicity.
So, this all comes down to "there is something we can't have because if we did have it, someone, somewhere would do bad things with it", right?
Sadly, you can say that about almost anything these days, one way or another someone somewhere will do bad things with it.
What bothers me more are the sweeping generalizations that almost vilify anyone (in this case) who likes the look of that possibly younger Miqo'te. Has this become a matter for the thought police and all of you have been deputized?
